Think this'd be great and I'll tell you why:

- It doesn't need much moderation, users can block and so forth quite easily as well as mute;
- Can be opened at certain times for public use, so that the forum doesn't suffer entirely;
- It's cheap as hell and doesn't ask of TOO much resources;
- It'd be well used by quite a few members;
- No webcam, such a blessing for all those "issues"

errr any other pros to it?! I can't see any cons, if it's done in the way I suggested.

You really do love teamspeak don't you? Haha. Not sure how popular it would be so let's see what anyone else thinks.

I'm in support of this idea, the pro's mentioned above are accurate and a perfect solution for anybody who feels that it would have a negative effect on the forum. Not sure how it would be managed however it's going to require some form of moderation / administration.

Yeah basically, can also use Mumble which is cheaper but TS is more widely adopted.
xxMATTGxx; I just miss hearing your voice in all honesty.

Habbox could host a Teamspeak server off the dedi and have a none profit license which would allow 500 people. It'd be good to have staff rooms for different departments and you can assign permissions to staff etc.
Would be interesting to see how it goes. :)

Only thing I'd be curious about is the management of opening times and closing times, like who'd do that. Maybe it could run as a scheduled task on the server, I dunno the platform that's used as server software so dunno if thats possible.

I think in terms of moderation, worry is swearing I think but if you had a 16+ room for users who were older and more mature, wouldn't necessarily need that. The other thing is that you wouldn't want the current forum moderators to be moderating TS (unless they ask for it). It's a bigger workload for a job which is already pretty hard from what I can gather.

I think the route to go down in terms of moderation management would be assigned individuals including anybody in the moderation department, anybody in a managerial role of any other active member of the forum who would be deemed as an appropriate safe guard for the communication within the teamspeak server. By that I mean no set group of people (not all managers or not all moderators) but people who are suitable. It doesn't need to be a staff position either to be honest if a trusted member is regularly using the server then let them moderate it. The worst that can happen is that they kick / ban someone if the power gets to their head :P

I'm not saying forum moderators shouldn't! I just think it should be optional for them to want to, but again it comes down to the rules set and whether they are too ridiculous to enforce or not.

Also to mention, you can create multiple "rooms" in a Teamspeak server as well as passworded rooms and rooms only certain people can access. Makes it good for the staff I think.

Do people who want to speak to each other not already do so

see what issues arise and whether it is worth continuing it.

I would say there's no harm in trialing it whatsoever, really. It seems the majority of the people are for it in here, so why not? It'd be a nice big group chat which you can leave and join whenever you without having to ask someone to 'add you into the conversation'.

The obviously, private conversations (or anything of the sort) can still be held on Skype, etc. so it can't be too bad.

Would stop you annoying the rest of us by adding us into calls we don't want to be in ;)

Uhh I don't know if I'd use it or not. I can see plenty of people wanting to try it out though. No harm in trying lol.

Nothing, Skype is for more private talks though. Moreso than Teamspeak is anyway.

xxMATTGxx; when can we expect something to be implemented?

Well, by use it I mean I'd sit there listening in like usual ;)

Don't like the 16+ idea though Ryan ;/ It's a bit rubbish because I wouldn't be allowed in for no reason ok and I'm sure many other members around my age would agree with this :P

Let's face it, you wouldn't use it unless CrazyLemurs; was in it...

Is this going to be put on trial first?

DO U MIND Mark; YOU ARE INAPPROPRIATE
I'd come in it but probably listen for most of it
Would it be passworded on entry or whitelisted or something, or open to the community?

Flashchat

I knew YOU would say Flashchat, and only you would.

Flashchat was crap, Teamspeak isn't that is the difference in this.

Plus Teamspeak doesn't cost a freakin bomb.

@CrazyLemurs (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=82631); you can password each "room" which is essentially like conversation areas that you can drop in and out of, so like people can be in one room talking then you can leave it for another and talk to diff people, whitelists work as well. Passwording the actual server, probably not much point. Would be better to just make the TS server inaccessible from TS public directory and make it private for us guys.

@:Cerys (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=75591); I was only thinking of the innocents below that age who may not like the language, just covering habbox's back!!!!

I'd use it (so that's a negative point), it's a shame Creeper island's teamspeak went dead.
