Cheers!

or download adblock for free
The ads are so minor it barely effects anyone! It keeps habbox running further so I see no problem :P

Adblock = big red letters at top of page
I'm not against it, just wanted peoples views on it.

Adblock doesn't give me red letters, what?
I used to run it on Habbox but it's now the 1 site I have it turned off on - it keeps things running and it's so minor I barely even notice!

If you run adblock on habbox you'll get this where the ad should be:
Please stop using AdBlock :(

To be honest it's such a small ad that people who have Adblock on are actually a bit selfish IMHO. It's not free to keep habbox running, and you use it; a lot of people don't even buy donator/VIP to help out!
It doesn't even interrupt any threads or anything...

It isn't being selfish, I don't want to see advertisements - that is my choice. Surely you are contradicting yourself? "Leave it on for every other page" - I use those websites too, so surely I should remove it for all websites I use?

Most other websites people of this forums age use are massive companies, whereas Habbox really doesn't earn that much from outside from where users donate.
Small companies or websites such as Habbox just... well deserve a tiny tiny inconvenience IMO, it barely affects anything. If everyone here was to turn Adblock off then Habbox either couldn't run or couldn't continue to keep up the running costs, therefore would shut down. For the sake of a tiny advert you barely even pay attention to isnt it worth it?
If you say no then that is selfish if you continue to use the forum, money doesn't grow on trees!

Selfish for not wanting red ugly letters at the top of a webpage woops.
Anyway you can custom filter the red letters too, so a few people don't see anything at the top

With all due respect, I've probably given Hx about £100 since being a member, not to mention a fairly substantial amount of habbo furniture - I don't feel at all bad about potentially causing Hx to lose out on about 20 pence. Also, Habbox wouldn't shut down without advertisements, as I imagine a large sum of money is made from donations (heh, they'd get even more if VIP was brought back).
If you would like to, you could press a few advertisements a day to help Habbox (do you do this, out of interest?)

It looks great!
I honesly only ever notice the ads when I see threads like this. I would consider them an inconvienience in the slightest. Marketing; Even though it may only be like -20p for you using it, if other users continue to install adblock, that adds (excuse the pun) up.

Nope, selfish for blocking adverts which is one of the very minimal money streams which Habbox gets. The red letters are supposed to make you feel GUILTY for effectively taking that money away from Habbox.
But I don't expect much more from a forum of naive children/teenagers who don't really understand how the world works. But let me put it simply: money doesn't grow on trees and it would help Habbox to stay open if you have one tiny little advert at the top.

I suppose you're in the minority then; but you wouldn't turn round to ITV and say "well, I've donated tons to Dancing On Ice so I don't want to see adverts during that show" would you? It might be just 20 pence for you, but if every one of the, idk, 10,000? (guess) users turned it off that's actually £2000. Which I think even you would agree is no small sum of money!
It doesn't matter if the bulk is made from donator, if there are adverts then that's a stream of income and some extremely selfish users don't seem to understand that it's not free to keep a website open, especially one like this. (I'm excluding some people, like yourself, who donate to Habbox her)

Ok but the majority of people watch TV with adverts in; lets say trains? You wouldn't say "I've paid tons for my train ticket therefore I should have the right not to see adverts!"

I suggest you don't fly on RyanAir any time soon, assuming they still have adverts still inside their aircraft :P

It's absurd of you to come up with the £2000 figure. Not all of those users are even going to click any form of advert, I've clicked them about once or twice due to pure accident and ignored it after that. You can start preaching we dont care about Habbox, but as Marketing rightfully pointed out quite a few of us have purchased donator which is far more useful than this 10,000 stat that's massively overexaggerated.
I imagine the sales of heatwave VIP and w.e the other Crap ons was is much more effective ...

I guess for trains they don't have any impact on my internet speeds, and don't make my page slightly less attractive to look at. Just like I don't hate adverts in cities (particularly like Times Square, and the typical Indian city etc).
Also, believe me I hate the prices of trains more than anything, and have - on more than one occasion - told the ticket guy at the station that I don't want to pay for every persons ticket.
I suggest you don't fly on RyanAir any time soon, assuming they still have adverts still inside their aircraft :P
That is fortunate! RyanAir is a hideous excuse for an airline. I looked at their flights this summer and discovered that the tickets (which were not particularly cheap to start with) would each have an extra £70 thrown on to them, alongside some other ridiculous taxes!
I dont use adblock on any website, ads dont really bother me and it helps the websites I visit to stay running so why would I want to ruin that?
And that is your choice, and we should be allowed ours.
---
Anyway, yeah I do feel that on the basis the resources are there to use, I am doing no harm in maintaining my adblock. As I say, I personally don't feel bad as I am 100% certain past donations have outweighed any advertisement revenue. I won't say for sure whether Hx loses out, as I am unsure whether the advertisements here are paid for via page impressions or clicks.

I don't use adblock as i've grown used to the adverts over the years and just don't notice them for the most part. Surely though, the people who used adblock wouldn't click adverts anyway (which is the only way to make money off them).
money = paper. paper = comes from trees. ergo, money grows on trees.
Money isn't made from paper though. Most notes are made from cotton and linen :P
