Regular viewers know that series eight concluded in dramatic fashion in July when original character Tom Clarkson was killed off following Jason Done's decision to quit the role (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s24/waterloo-road/news/a471966/waterloo-road-exit-for-tom-clarkson-confirmed.html).

As the new run of episodes begins, the school is still in mourning for Tom - especially Kacey Barry (Brogan Ellis), who is struggling to cope without her teacher and mentor.

New faces at Waterloo Road will include teenage twins Lenny and Lisa Brown (Joe Slater and Caitlin Gillespie) and recently-qualified science teacher Sue Spark (Vanessa Hehir).

Lenny and Lisa immediately feature in a storyline with Audrey McFall (Georgie Glen) as she suspects they are being neglected at home, while Sue finds the reality of teaching much harder than she expected.

Elsewhere, fans will also be interested to see how Christine Mulgrew (Laurie Brett) is settling into her new role as head teacher, while deputy head Simon Lowsley (Richard Mylan) hides a secret which could affect his career and unsettle the staff.

Ah, can't wait for this. It'll be interesting to see how Grantly is written out though, as it's meant to be a blockbuster exit. However, it won't feel the same without Tom.

from what I can remember, Christine confronts Sue and Simon about being a couple. Simon after tells her doesn't want her to work at the school and then shes all my dad wants too see you rise to be a superhead and me to be by your side and if it doesn't happen he will be disappointed. Christine and George are scheming and shes appointing him joint deupty head

Enjoyed the episode tonight, next weeks looks even better though. I liked the thought of Kevin and Dynasty though, I thought they made a cute couple :(. I doubt they will break up/she will find out just yet though.

My favourite series'. I've actually started to watch Waterloo Road from the beginning and the first series is absolutely awful, especially that theme song.

Old Waterloo Road was so much better, there was actually some aftermath when someone died, they weren't just forgotten a week later. Plus I love Steph and Maxine.

First episode in the new series was on Wednesday, I loved it. As usual, new term means new dramas all going off in one hour.


New P.E teacher, Mr Reid. The first assembly scene lol. Nothing like setting off smoke bombs in the hall and no smoke alarms going off.
The new girl, Gabriella.. It was just so all over the place. Stealing a truck, stalking, stripping, getting smacked by the father, keying nikki's car & stealing mr reids scarf and sniffing it.. Too much to handle in one episode.

Loved the first episode of the new series. The girl is obviously a complete psycho but she's hilarious and adds a bit of drama. The scene at the start with the PE teacher and the smoke bomb.. why the hell would you let a teacher away with terrifying the pupils and staff. Simon is a nutter and so is he. :)

There was very little TV adverts on it I saw. They're been advertising a lot on social media, but the TV advertising was dire.

i think the thing in america was just a camp, so it wasn't permanent. although I did think it was a little longer than however long shes been away for. maybe its just a long visit. but it was weird how she sat back in class so maybe she has returned from this camp.

im gutted about christine but the story is getting interesting again. and looking forward to next weeks episode.
