What would you say is the acceptable age to have children / start a family?

I personally would say around 25 plus, once you've found the right person and have a secure job.

If it's planned, ideally 23 onwards. Sure, you need good job to support the kid. But whenever two people feel ready, if it's an accident then they have to deal with the consequences at whatever age.

Age at which said people seem mature and responsible enough. Seems to ne 18+ yes Ik there are a few immature 18 year olds and what not but I won't slate people for being young parents if they're actually raising their kid decently

I think 30 is the perfect age. Although anywhere between 25-30 would be fine once you have the right partner and circumstances.

It differs from person to person due to maturity and their financial state really. Ideally for me, I'd like to start having kids at around 25+, as long as I was in a healthy relationship and was financially stable.

16 in my opinion

Anywhere between 23 to 34. It can be hard for children if their parents have them when they're like 16, but it's also hard if their parents are both 40.

i'm not bothered about other people if they wanna have a child let them have one

i don't think i'd have one until i was like 25, i want a career first

when people are ready and if they're mature enough then they should do what they want, but for me i've got a lot of other priorities so if i was to have a kid i'd probably be 25+

I'd love a kid at like 23 or so, I'd really like to be a young parent but at this rate I'll be AT LEAST 26-27 by the time I get a career going and stuff unless I have an accident kid lol

28+, whenever the person is ready also. I'd like to live my life a bit before I start worrying about raising someone else's for theirs lol

Whenever you feel you are ready and comfortable. Around the 22+ mark although I do think the younger (20's-young30's) are better as I don't know if it's just a coincidence but my friends who have problems with their parents always have rather mature parents and I think they just don't understand as well as younger parents do what their children are going through. They judge on how they were when they were growing up and it's been 45 years since that happened so times have changed.

Over 45 is a bad idea IMO. I know people who have parents who weren't able to interact with them as well due to the parent's age as they grew up. The parents just get too tired too easily.

I'm 19 and my dad is over 60 now, and if i was even a few years younger i can tell it would be tough on him.

Hell we were looking at apartments in Dublin a few days ago and we had to stop to sit down and have a coffee frequently :P

Exactly. Sure the best clubs around are for over 21s anyway. You'd want a least a good few years in them

My dad is also over 60 now, and I haven't had any problems with him personally - to be honest, I am grateful that I have had the chance to grow up in a stable middle class family! I know what you mean by the annoying coffee breaks though :L

I think the best time is where you can actually afford to bring one up.

Personally for me, I'm thinking something like 27+ - I won't start working in my field until I'm 22, and then there's a wedding to pay for :P And house/car etc. Kids can wait.

Whenever you're ready to, one of my friends is a 17 year old mother and she is great at it.. but obviously she needs the grandparents to step in as they're both at college. Just when you feel ready tbh.
