are these allowed now? 'cause I've seen people with their pictures in their avatars recently. I thought that was something which was always going to be banned? Certainly management made out it was going to be banned forever anyway when I caused a fuss about it a few years ago...

That's so annoying because, when I bought up the subject ages ago management were proper kicking off about it...

why was it not allowed considering the fact that their is an immensely popular thread here called 'post a picture of yourself' :S

Opinions can also change and the way that management make decisions can also change. One of those 2 reasons were probably the cause (as I'm sure when it was brought up, management didn't listen to the community as much as they do now? Unless I'm dreaming).

If I can remember they were scared people would get bullied lol. If people didn't want to get bullied then the answer was simple, don't put a picture up... Other people were saying that they wouldn't want to look at peoples faces if they were annoying or w/e where as with papoy they have to click to see.

Because apparently forcing pictures of yourself to other users wasn't allowed, the post a picture thread someone had to actively click on it.

dont start criticizing management for listening to people or literally nothing will get done

sometimes it takes more than 1 (or 24 billion) suggestions for them to implement something cos circs change

Err I'm not criticizing anyone thank you very much, so why don't you get off your high horse lol. I was simply saying it's funny how they were all saying it would probably never be allowed and hey look now it is when I didn't really see anyone requesting it but oh well.

well it takes about 20 seconds to read the faqs instead of making a thread to show how bitter you are that it wasn't your direct suggestion they acted on

management have changed quite a lot lately in a lot of aspects, not to mention the physical changes meaning a completely new aspect & outlook

Well considering I don't even know where the FAQs are, I thought I'd create a thread. Sorry, is there some sort of problem with that? Bitter lol, I honestly couldn't care less, I was just curious and I thought it was funny that's all...

Woo go management...

There was a poll back in May in regards of this.

It was probably one of the old forum managers who said no to it when you fussed previously. When it was suggested again earlier this year, I must admit that I wasn't too keen on the idea. Instead of outright saying no, we ran a poll which resulted in the rule being changed to allow avatars of yourself. It hasn't been a problem since so it worked out well in the end.

Yeah, I guess the user base has changed since then anyway so makes sense peoples attitudes have changed. FlyingJesus; my eyesight ain't that good you know!!

thing is i'd never put an avatar of myself on (prob) but im not gonna judge people who do, and if they're bullied because of it then there's a report system and a 'dont use an avatar' option

It was a rule that lasted into current management as well, but Oli was quite against it as far as I remember!

I don't hate that people can have pictures of themselves (unless they're hideous) but I'm not a fan of Habbox going all democratic on everything. We're supposed to be able to trust in forum/upper management to make big decisions, not let it go to rule of the majority - especially considering how stupid the majority is

I always thought it was for safety and that's why it wasn't allowed previously. If you want to look at PAPOY you need a forum account, if you want to look at someone's profile you should need a forum account (I'm not too sure on this). I don't mind the rule either way, I believe it's become a lot easier to moderate them as you couldn't always be 100% sure if it was them in some cases.

100% agree.

TBH I AGREE WITH THIS.

Tried to explain why but I ended up deleting that and just writing this. It's too hard to explain why, I just don't like it.

Why does it bother anyone? People complaining are probably getting agitated because they feel like they might be pressured to put their only ugly face up.
