Well I got sent home from school cos in PE, I jumped on the springboard and landed with my big toe curled, then heard a crack, started to bleed. Anyway, idk if its broke or not, so my mum said she'll make a decision when she gets in from work. I can't walk on it or anything, so help http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/16/uma4aru5.jpg

could put it in a spoiler
i dont really want to open a thread to see a full blown shot of your foot :(

Can you bend it? Try forcing it to bend. If you fail to bend it then eventually it'll seize up or whatever and you'll not be able to bend it again without loaaads of help etc :3

haha d/w i'm only joking ;P

There isn't really much to do with a broken toe, from experience all the doctors did for me was strap it to the toe next to it and left it. They didn't even xray it xD

So yeah I'd suggest getting some medical tape and just strapping it to your other toe. Keep trying to bend it every day, you don't wanna end up like me and have it impossible to bend your toe :P

As a medical expert, I highly recommend that the toe is amputated immediately.

On a serious note, none of us are medical experts, so book an appointment with a doctor, if it can't wait, try and visit a walk in centre.

Put that foot in a spoiler 😧

Theres nothing you can do with a broken toe anyway so like even if you go to the doctor they will only give you painkillers and confirm if its broken or not

Get well soon sky

Just been to the doctors, prescribed me a few ibuprofen tabs (the xtra stong ones) and the nurse taped my toe up with the one next to it, and then I couldn't walk!!!! So I had to BUY crutches because hospitals dont give them out often. So I spent £25 on crutches :l all for a stupid PE lesson.

Not sure why you wasted money on crutches. The hospital don't hand them out very often because people don't actually need them nearly as often as they think. It's a broken toe. It's painful but it really doesn't require crutches.

If it's that painful here's a couple of tips for the next few weeks:

-Keep yourself up to date with ibuprofen and paracetamol. Alternate between the two to get maximum pain relief (e.g ibuprofen, then paracetamol 3 hours later, then ibuprofen 3 hours after that, etc).
-Remember R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice Compression, Elevation).
-Wear tennis shoes or sandals instead of your regular shoe.
-As has been said, try to bend it each day to stop it freezing up after it heals.

-DO NOT STOP WALKING ON IT. The reason hospitals do not give out crutches to broken toes is because it means the toe is constantly resting. This will only result in your toe taking extra time to heal plus it may not heal correctly because it's not being used normally. Saying this, don't partake in particularly straining activities (like P.E, jogging, etc). Once the cut has healed, it may help to go swimming.

Nah you defo shouldn't have bought crutches. I know it's less painful using them but it won't make your toe any better. How is it now, is it getting any better?
