Man stabbed and robbed in London of Grand Theft Auto game
A man was hit with a brick and stabbed before being robbed of the much awaited Grand Theft Auto V video game in north London.
The 23-year-old was returning home from shopping when he was attacked in Colindale at 01:20 BST, police said.
The video game by RockStar Games was officially launched at midnight.
The victim, who is in a stable condition in hospital, was also robbed of a watch and a mobile.
No-one has been arrested over the attack and police have appealed for information.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "The victim had been shopping and was on his way home when he was hit with a brick.
"He was then stabbed and robbed."
Grand Theft Auto V was launched in stores across the UK at midnight, with long queues forming outside gaming shops.
Experts believe Rockstar Games could sell 25 million copies, generating £1bn during its first year on sale.
I know it's horrible to say it, but the irony of getting stabbed & robbed after buying a game like GTA 5 is pretty bad.
It's like buying Call of Duty and then being shot the next day whilst you're boarding a plane. BAD TASTE? YOLO.
hit with a brick omg

I think it's funny how everybody narrows in on the game when his more expensive phone and watch also got stolen.
What the actual hell.. That's pathetic. Did they do it solely for the game of just was a random attack and he happened to be walking home from getting it.

So he was robbed and happened to have gta 5 at the time, not like he was robbed solely for his game. I love how the media tries to put a spin on everything.

They like to say I told you so - I told you these violent games would lead to violence
I just went to morrisons for mine first thing in the morning and got it - no issues :/
people are just crazy.
my mate got bricked in the head when he was younger so he told me. He had two massive black eyes at the time!
When the last C.O.D. game came out, my friend who works in Xtra Vision (dunno what it's call everywhere else, Blockbusters? Iuno) she went in at midnight with her uniform on, went behind the counter and got her game. When she left the store and was walking to her car, these two lads who were WAYYY back in the queue mugged her, took the game and booted it.

When I was working in Xtra Vision and GTA had been pushed to September from March and I told someone who came in to pre-oder he started crying. Literally broke down as if his child had died. He was like 40. COD aren't the only crazy fans :P
