Finally got around to watching this but stopped half way through. The movie is WAY to slow for my liking.

I seen this when it came out; had this giant that sat in front of us whose fat head blocked the subtitles lmao ;l I enjoyed it though. It was really tense and the end scene with him in shock was emotional. I didn't get why the ship going into pirate infested waters was unarmed? :S

Wasn't the story about one of the first pirate attacks in so many years?

So it'd be completely different to what it is now but they obviously assumed it wouldn't happen

I think the attacks had already got international attention. There was a scene where he reads an email about the pirate threat but I can't remember if it was before they set sail or not.

Mostly due to money as they would have to employ security companies to put people on the shop who are trained with guns etc. I'm not sure how much of it has changed since the attack the films shows but I would hope a lost of the cargo ships that go into these troubled areas have more security to them.
