Not a Labour supporter myself, but was hugely impressed with Miliband's Labour Conference speech this year. Not because of the content, but because he talked for just over one hour - without a single cue or set of notes. You can watch some (or all) of his speech here; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24227128
Didn't think he had it in him, to be honest. Showed up all the other parties so far, and I imagine he will show up the Conservative party too.

I have to say as somebody who always defends Miliband from Tory paper attacks on his 'nerdish' personality (which I find to be gutter politics) - the proposals coming from Labour at the moment are pretty interesting, even if I a) don't believe they'll carry them through & b) are ridiculously stupid and counterproductive. Infact I was going to post an article on Miliband's proposals regarding energy companies which exposes his hypocrisy on the matter.
That said, I don't know if it's just me but when Miliband or Cameron speak it just sounds insincere to me. There's a hollow ring to their words which you certainly don't get with Farage and even Clegg I would argue does appear to speak as though he means what he says.
In terms of the performance though, yeah Miliband can speak to his audience that's for sure - and that makes me rather happy considering that the Tories are pinning their hopes in 2015 on painting Miliband as an absolute disaster (which he is) but hoping it makes them look good. It is a very risky and foolish strategy for the Tories to pin their hopes on a Presidential-style match in 2015 though, as today shows and as past polling shows.
