View Full Version : [Film] Gravity

I just got back from viewing Gravity in IMAX 3D and, wow.
It was, in a word, breathtaking. Terrifying yet amazing. The cinematography was so beautiful, as was the performance Sandra gave her character.
If you are planning or debating on viewing this, I recommend seeing it in IMAX 3D, although viewer beware: it really sucks you in -- there were some moments where I felt like I was having a panic attack, an empathetic reaction to Sandra's character or just a reaction from my surroundings. I can't be sure, but I do know that I felt like I was out there, journeying with her.
Has anyone else seen it? Anyone planning? Share your thoughts, I'd love to read them!

I think I want to see it again, aha, but I am trying to budget myself with all the things coming out this holiday season.
Still, I hope it'll remain #1 in the box office for a few more weeks. It definitely deserves to do really well in it. Hopefully the UK helps with that.
Trailer looks incredible, I can't wait till it comes out in the uk
WATCH THIS FILM!!!!!!!!!!!
i found it terrifying and at times my breathing was a lil off because i felt this was more of an experience than a film. srsly rec it.

Saw this film last friday with a few people and absolutely loved it so much, was like making me think about so much in my own life too while watching it, and had the sort of mini panic attack like things too tbh, and a few existential moments ;P love how I kept thinking she would die quite a few times and was completely sure she would ;p

not being at all rude i just wanna know hahaoh i wouldnt deny that the graphics and the whole 3d aspect of it was fab, i just hated the storyline. not my type of film at all. too much action happening all together and i felt it could have been spread out a tad more instead of constant clumps, made me dislike it so much.

??????????????
she's literally floating in space????
trying to make it to earth????
while trying not to be killed???/
factor in the fact that everything is so vast in space and so far apart, and she has lack of access and training at her disposal, and initially doesn't care to even survive the whole ordeal
like what, exactly, did you expect storywise?
I would not have called it action at all. I didn't see it as an action type movie. there is a lot of chaos, definitely, but I don't think it is action-y whatsoever.
i'm confused that you said it was all action-y and that's why you didn't like it, cupcake;. i agree with October; too, i didn't really see the film as action-y, more of an experience if anything and i just think the space movements are far too elegant (not sure if right word, it's just they're not fast paced and the 'floaty' feeling doesn't make it feel fast) to make it like any other action film. the trailer indicated there was going to be some kind of disaster up there and i mean it's space.. if you expected it to be any less then it just wouldn't have been realistic. there were moments that were also very peaceful, like when they were trekking and we got that stunning view of the world. i don't really see how you could fault the 'clumps' either because it was inevitable seeing as the problem was going to occur every 90 minutes.
i'm not trying to get at your opinion i just don't understand how anything else could have worked haha
I really wanna see this, I've heard mixed reviews. It'd be a great film to see in the iMax I think.
