A woman died after she fell 80ft from the top floor of a city centre fashion store.
Emergency services were called to Primark on Church Street just after 6pm this evening to reports a woman had fallen from the third floor balcony.
Shocked onlookers and staff ran to the woman, who was found at the bottom of the escalators.
Horrible, tragic news close to me. Can anyone be held accountable for this, even if she just fell?
wtf how can u simply "fall" like that in one of those situations
rip

Church Street.... this is Liverpool isn't it? the very shop where most of my wardrobe is from then. Very sad although I am sure I recall a few years ago when the store opened that a small child fell down the escalator part due to there being a gap in the glass barriers?

How do you even fall 80ft? Wouldn't she have fallen onto the second floor, why would have be 80ft from the 3rd floor. RIP regardless.

Have you never seen staircases where you can look down to the bottom?
Although, I'm confused as well. How can she fall 80 feet? Wouldn't the distance from the ground floor to the 3rd floor be a lot less than 80 feet?

Yes, that store. Five years ago a little girl fell, as you said, due to a gap. She sustained a broken arm and leg.

In this particular Primark, there's five floors. Basement, G, 1, 2 & 3 (I think)! That explains the 80ft.
The escalators are all in the same part of the store and you can see top to bottom. How you'd "fall" is hard to figure out. There's the possibility of a push though I guess. Police still investigating.

Ah I see what you mean, but I guess they're not like that much round here. Also, has anything happened to the shop, like have they had to close at all? I mean if she just fell, won't an investigation need to be done anyway?
lmao @ most of your wardrobe is from primark undertaker
but damn, imagine seeing that
I always get shook when I'm at the bullring and I look down from the top floor
hope no kids are scarred for life now

The store if there's sufficient evidence that she fell through this gap that seems to be mentioned a lot. They would have had to assessed for such a risk and as such should know that there was a possibility of such an incident. However, if it was suicide or her own ignorance then they would not be liable, though they would steal be accountable as the store is directly involved in the situation of events (accountable being - the woman (1) and the store (2)).
