Habbo Wikia shouldn't be on at all, I've already said they steal and copy off of Habbox. I don't get how a Wiki can be a fansite though?

Meh, fansites are past it. Let's be honest, there have only ever been a few fansites worth visiting and that is more true than ever now.

I don't get why HabboCreation went for official on .com - Aren't they all based in .nl? Meaning essentially they can do nothing on .com except be official. Unless they get matt (Jendro) to do everything for them.

Very poor decisions.
1) HabboKingdom is currently down. No surprise there.
2) HabboKingdom was recently hacked and the passwords were in plain text.
3) Owners (at least the domain owner) of HabboKingdom are regulars on a well known hacking site with a Habbo section.
4) Habbo Wikia copies from Habbox Wiki.
5) Habbo Wikia was not on the short list so no feedback could be given.
6) HabboCreation is not ran by people who actively play .COM
7) New fansites ran by 'influential' users on .COM were overlooked (HabboFest and HabboLicious)
Mine are all based on facts. Unlike Vado et al. Very poor and caved into pressure from others. Which is not what I want nor expect from Powertoo.

honestly, the owners of habbox rarely play .com at all so I don't know how this can really be a point. Habbox is run fine without them playing it, too xP

OK, I didn't think I had to spoon feed my points to people. However, just for you.
http://habbox.com/#!/StaffList if you go there, it's clear that Habbox has over 100 volunteers that run the site. In addition to this, all the owners and people who run Habbox (Matt) etc are all fluent in English. Even Sierk is (although not his first language). Compare this to HabboCreation: http://habbocreation.com/about they have five staff.
On Habbocreation homepage there is a language on their HOME PAGE that isn't even English, sigh.

Aye you don't need to talk to me like I'm ******ed.
You said the *owners* of it don't play it often, I said that this factor shouldn't change how good the fansite is considering many fansites out there, including habbox, have owners who don't play habbo frequently.

That's without properly looking, I'm mainly picking up on these because most of the information would probably be harder to get hold of unless you were in the campaign.
I know Habbo Wikia has stolen Habbox Rare Values before, which we put a stop to luckily.
It's just a bit odd when we've been accused of copying before.
It'll be nice to see these fansites in action, however, some are getting special treatment .

I didn't explain any of my points in full detail. I thought most people on here knew a relative amount about fansites. Being a Habbox user yourself (even though relatively new) I thought you'd fully grasp the idea that Habbox has 100+ volunteers that run the site and the owners are pretty much redundant. Clearly I was wrong to expect anyone to be able to put 2 and 2 together.

Hey there. Just to clear some stuff up, the pages you mentioned in your post were added by a new contributor, he probably didn't understand the way of the wiki at that time. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you find any more copies please feel free to post them. I'll get on changing up those pages a bit.

It shouldn't be visitors jobs to tell you what pages are copied. The site should be moderated before posting stuff that isn't theirs.

Haha you're funny, one of those who moderates is CBlair aka CoolChris3223 - he admitted stealing Habbox's values to me etc. although I agree.
I thought it was a newer member, but those pages have been there over a year/nearly a year.
So, only 3 fansites made it?

The thing is, most regular contributors know what their doing. We do moderate it, just don't have to time to check ALL edits against every Habbo wiki out there. If someone feels like something isn't right, they should step up and get it corrected. That's what the wiki format is all about.

I genuinely thought that HabboKingdom and HabboCreation were very nice sites (and I still do) but upon hearing that one of them is owned by a hacker and the other isn't even a .com player I am extremely disappointed that some of the other sites (including mine HabboLicious) were sort of looked past, I understand that most of the other sites that were short listed are fairly new which probably caused them to be overlooked. However, you'd think that a little bit of research would have gone in to these sites that were chosen. The fact alone that the wiki site copies Habbox is quite shameful as the owner of that site tried to claim that we copied Hffm. *laughs* at least there was SOME satisfaction today. I truly hope that next time around there is more thought put in to which sites receive official status.

Didn't I say that we moderate it? A year ago, our moderation was not that good, that was because only about 1-2 people were active, and they weren't very active at that. Thanks to new contributors we are now very moderated. Every contrib is checked for vandalism.
We don't however, check against every other Habbo wiki since that would just be a waste of time, and it would be easier for other people to point it out when they have the chance so we may easily correct it.
I mean at Habbox Wiki do they check every contribution against our wiki or HabboHut's wiki? I don't think so :s

No because the people probably do the work themselves instead of slacking and doing nothing. If your moderation was so good they would do a backlog and check everything or updated it for betting information instead of 1 sentence for most of the pages.

I check quite a few Habbo Wikia pages against our own, the majority are usually furni based as I know Habbo Wikia isn't as advanced in that sector like ours (no offence, honestly). However, I will admit some pages might be better at Habbo Wikia, but not many and yes I do check. Habbo Hut's Wiki I don't believe is that good and has random pages, so I avoid going on it mainly.

Agreed. I think it's a shame. However, what I think has happened is that Powertoo has bowed to pressure put on her by some of the fansite community and decided not to go with new and smaller communities and let them grow. People would have been angry if you and HabboFest got official just because you're new. What they can't see is that your site and HabboFest are ran by people who are already putting on events for the .COM community. I haven't seen HabboCreation do that at all. Everything on their site seems to mention foreign hotels more than .COM.

Ok well, we are in the process of redoing all furni pages so that they meet quality standards, and nice job for moderating your own wiki :P We just don't prefer to do the same for ours.
Also, a side note: Back in the era of about 2010-2012, it was mostly anonymous contributors adding to the articles. Obviously they will mess up (or some of them will at least). So once again, please contact us if you find anything else copied from your wiki.

We contribute to our own wiki... It's just that sometimes, other people want to contribute too, and sometimes, these contributions aren't as constructive as we hope they would be. Also Samanfa only mentioned about two pages she found. Two pages copied doesn't automatically mean horrible moderation/slacking off moderators. Of course, if she found A LOT more that happened recently, then it would probably be a problem.

It's very disappointing to know that's most likely the truth. Coming in to this I thought that people would be welcoming.. I was very wrong, it's a battlefield and apparently new sites are looked down upon in the fansite community. Powertoo clearly doesn't seem to realize by handing fansites that do nothing what they want they will proceed to do nothing. Meh!

Also, some food for thought.
Here are our current stats:

How are we going to backlog through over 100k edits, over 25k pages, and check over 12k images :l
Like I said before, it's not that we slack, it's just that it's not really that productive.

I don't think all of them got uploaded at the same time, and it wouldn't take several days to read a small paragraph.. or sentence as most of them are. So clearly the site just lacks in general. Starting to replace them slowly would help and delete the 1ns that are just junk.. most of them.

Because the pages that were mentioned were edited in 2012... When we weren't moderated as well. And you said that the content we currently have would have had to be added slowly, so I was telling that it all was mostly added in 2013 when our moderation was a lot better.

why can't you guys just admit you stole content.. we all know you did. it's been admitted by other owners. stop trying so hard to work your way out of it.
Also, we did admit we had stolen content on our wiki. But it was never moderate over so we couldn't do anything about it.

So a site that does more or less nothing themselves, lacks moderation and has no time to check their stuff and update their information (which is the purpose of the site?) gets official? Great... can't wait to see it in the future.

What do you mean.... We made over 6 Thousand pages by ourselves, and constantly maintain them... And I have mentioned countless times that we check every contrib for vandalism, not so much for plagiarism.
Please right now you are just repeating unrelated information...

If you don't check them properly you are lacking moderation, you said that you got people to contribute so I doubt you made 6000 yourself with 1000 from other users? Clearly your information on youre own site is so bad that you may as well pack your bags.

By ourselves, I mean our community of editors :)
And iirc our wiki has the most content of all other wikis. Plus best design.

I don't know them.
1) HabboKingdom is currently down. No surprise there. (Was having some Ddos attacks "What do you expect")
2) HabboKingdom was recently hacked and the passwords were in plain text. (Incorrect, 1 account with very limited permissions was accessed and some threads was removed that is all. The passwords are not in plain text an and the database was not accessed.)
3) Owners (at least the domain owner) of HabboKingdom are regulars on a well known hacking site with a Habbo section. (Incorrect i know you are on about Robbie! Robbie does not own the domains and is also not a site owner.)
Some very pointless statements there!
---------- Post added 26-10-2013 at 03:52 AM ----------
I genuinely thought that HabboKingdom and HabboCreation were very nice sites (and I still do) but upon hearing that one of them is owned by a hacker and the other isn't even a .com player I am extremely disappointed that some of the other sites (including mine HabboLicious) were sort of looked past, I understand that most of the other sites that were short listed are fairly new which probably caused them to be overlooked.
Habbokingdom is owned by myself and I'm very sure I'm not a hacker lol.
I cannot hack to save my life so i don't see where this has came from.

IMO, HabboKingdom is decent but it's basically what HFFM and ThisHabbo was (more or less the same layout) 2years ago.
Thanks i guess?
We are still working on improvements to our site to make it better and provide people with more functions to use. It's very hard to be unique these days because most fansites have pritty much done everything now. We are working on developing a v1.1 what will bring the start to new features for people to use.

You content is nothing unless it's your own. Anyway, I find your Wiki rather hard to navigate as it is, so to me and probably many others it's not the best design.

Correct, also the layout is dull confusing, colours aren't clear to read and the text isn't very well done.

If Habbox users are finding problems with some of Habbo Wikia's pages containing some of our own work, we are allowed and (I suppose many of Habbo Wikia's staff will agree) encouraged to make changes to the articles. If it's bothering you so much (not going to lie I find it a problem but not as much as Hidden, for example), feel free to edit the copied stuff out or reword it etc
Although I must say Wikias aren't a conventional fansite...
I'm currently on my iPhone if you are seeing this message. Pretend like you care xx

Sincerest apologies
WHEN have I argued against the fact that we have volunteers. All I have talked about is the owners, which is all you spoke about in your point.
Considering you just backed me up with what I'm saying in this sentence: 'Habbox has 100+ volunteers that run the site and the owners are pretty much redundant' you should really think a bit more before you type

Here is my opinion on the new fansites...
Disclaimer: this is my opinion.
Double checking with everyone this is my opinion.
(Certain user seems to be attack me whenever I talk about fansites lol)
Habbocreation: I feel like it's official on the wrong hotel. Similar though to Puhekupla which shouldn't really be official on our hotel if it wasn't for Vado's efforts with events and what not, so I hope to see active engagement with this site and our hotel! Site looks clean and really smart.
Habbokingdom: As soon as I loaded the site I tried to find a staff list and failed in doing so, the radio isn't loading text properly and the site in general looks half finished. I am not sure if it is still being developed? Half the links I click are not working either.. It actually looks like a cheap version of Habbox when I compare the two homepages.
Habbowikia: Is this a joke? Fugliest fansite I have ever seen lmao. And stealing content doesn't help. Oh well.

4) Habbo Wikia copies from Habbox Wiki.
That's not necessarily an omni-directional relationship, I received a couple of complaints from Habbo Wikia about plagiarism whilst I was content manager.

Habbokingdom was having some downtime at the time she added the sites.
So i'm aware we have not been removed off official.

Thank you Chippiewill. These people are so tightened up about plagiarism for a few pages, when it has happened on both sides of the teams. Might I add that no moderator of HabboxWiki noticed the plagiarism until a user reported it (much like Samanfa did) *cough* Hidden *cough*. So how are we supposed to do the same? Users are supposed to report anything they see, or EDIT it since they have full power to do so.

For this, we do not hold a grunge against Habbox or the Habbox Wiki. Our communities want what's best for their wiki, thus shortcuts are made. Personally, I make sure that persons responsible, for these actions, never do it again. I know you have done the same, Chippiewill.
Again, if anyone would like to speak to me, please contact me through #imdill3 or pm here. I'm not necessarily returning to this thread. :)

Never heard of half of them, and I still don't quite understand why Habborator (http://www.habborator.org) wasn't chosen. It's arguably the most useful fansite ever made, and should definitely deserve a place on the official list.

It probably wasn't chosen because it hasn't been updated in a long time.

I wonder what will happen next for Habbokingdom? They probably will go back to official since it was an error from the system or something. Habbokingdom is probably one of the great fansite I have seen besides Habbox of course and few more. HFFM & and Flyhabbo meh I don't even want to think about them.
who needs a habbo wiki srsly are u dumb
habbocreation never heard of it ever?
habbokingdom's events department are a bunch of downies they are seriously stupid like they kno nothing at all
i think habbofest or pumas one should have official i love habbofests forums and their events and i love pumas events

Rakker owns habbocreation and he works for staff creating rooms for them, so no doubt he easily got it without considertion. Not to mention his site is quite helpful with the tutorials. But other than that he just is abusing users on his site by making them watch his videos for money, also advertisements on his site.
All Fan Sites must be tasteful (in Habbo’s sole discretion) and have no commercial (monetary) objective.

Meh, fansites are past it. Let's be honest, there have only ever been a few fansites worth visiting and that is more true than ever now.
Agreed, and even then fansites seem to only be surviving these days because of die hard fans who keep them alive. Habbo is the best port of call for any information and networking. Fansites are an unneeded form of communities these days,

Yeah, spot on, really. Let's be honest, Habbox Forum is nothing like as active as it once was, and realistically it is the old members that keep it active with the odd new member that stays here and there. The radio at Hx is also a shocking show really - you used to get prizes for 150, or 200 listeners - the other day there was a prize for achieving 25 listeners...

It's the times we live in. Facebook, Google+ and Twitter is where everything is these days - no one wants to have to branch out to a full site which realistically contains little unique information and the only people interested in the history of Habbo/Habbox (via the Wiki) are people reminiscing. Regular users do not need to know this information as it's worthless to them and has no practical use. It probably doesn't help that Habbo is an outdated product these days either, hence further cementing the claim that no one cares about the history, other than the people who lived it.
It's harsh but true :/
Anyway, my favourite Habbo fansite was, is and always will be Habbos.co.uk

Habbos.ca was my favourite fansite. It was Canadian but I do believe people from other hotels uesd it as well. I can't remember why it closed, but it was probably because (like most fansites) the owners lost interest in Habbo.

WaltzMatilda said HabboLicious didn't get official because it's too new and doesn't have enough staff.
Well.. let's see......
1) It has been open longer than HabboCreation
2) It has more staff than HabboCreation
Do I need to say more about Habbo staff?
