Random question, if so why did you start?
I don't personally, just never really seen the attraction. None of my main friend group smokes, and neither to my family which I guess is probably why I never started..
Don't worry, if you do, I have no intention to tell you why you shouldn't :L

no, and my family is the reason I have never and don't plan to as well.
had to put up with a smoke filled house for so long and it was horrible and then when my dad moved out and my mum stopped the air obviously cleared and now smoke affects me even more and I start choking when I'm even near someone smoking so definitely never plan to.

Socially, but not that often. Can go months without it if I wanted to!

Nope I've never tried it and don't plan to. The smell alone makes me feel ill.

On occasion, incredibly rarely now though.

Oh why'd I start. Honestly I think it was genuine curiosity, continued because I founded it helped me when I got stressed a lot for some reason. Haven't bothered for a while though as I haven't got stressed to the point of smoking again :P

i do it both socially & alone but not regularly in terms of having many daily, i buy ten when im drinking, about every 3 weekends and will also smoke through the week if i have any left from weekend (usually only 3 or smth n once a day).
i like smoking with others idk how to explain it, it's nice to just chill and have a cigarette and a chat with someone but it's also nice to sit down by yourself, smoke & have a little ponder with yourself, like 'me' time. i enjoy smoking & do it when i want to.

I've never known a social smoker, so can I ask, what's the point?
As for the topic, I've never smoked. My grandmother died of lung cancer and she was a chain smoker, so even more of a reason.

I enjoy smoking, it's a very good stress relief technique and it calms me down a lot, but I don't find myself craving them. When I'm out, sometimes I feel like I need a break from the inside of pubs and the socially accepted thing to do was to go outside and have a cigarette. It links in with the stress, I get very anxious inside pubs/clubs with all the people, alcohol heightens that and the nicotine takes away from it.
And it's a good way to not be broken up from your group of friends or hang out with someone you're interested in!
-
I don't really like (as in like like) people who chain smoke, as the smell really gets everywhere. I always thoroughly wash everything just to get the smell off!
nope but i probably will at some point
Nope. Can't stand the smell and it burns my nose and eyes. The day after leaving a family party my eyes will still be sore and a bit bloodshot from smoke.

I don't smoke and I've never tried it either. I have family members who do smoke though and don't have any problems with people smoking. I can't stand the smoke though so if people are near me smoking then I try my best to withstand it or move away a bit further so it's not fully in my face.
I put socially but im in denial, it's probably regularly ;)
yeah I smoke but not very much... ish. I buy a 12.5g bag of baccy (so around £4.30) and that usually lasts me a week, but if I'm going to the pub and it's all sunny and lovely outside, I tend to smoke more.
I started because a lot of my friends were and I didn't feel like I didn't want to, obvs they didn't pressure me into it or anything :p. Also I had just started at a new college and smoking is SUCH a good way to make friends. Honestly, the smoking areas of clubs are full of friendly people. And like Laura says, it's nice to get away from the music and masses of people, and some places wont let you outside UNLESS you're smoking.
Like Jen said, it's also a lovely thing to do, like just take 5 mins out and reflect, especially if I'm walking somewhere.

Nope, have never smoked anything before! and don't plan on it :]
i only smoke for a reason to go to the smoking area when i'm clubbing, even then I just keep the smoke in my mouth and blow hoops
i'm more confident with something in my hand
dear god that sounded gay

My step-father has lung disease due to smoking. Hearing him cough all the time makes me cringe. Smoking is terrible, I will NEVER start.

Never have, never will. Some may find me wrong for thinking so, but I don't care, I really dislike those who smoke and honestly couldn't find myself befriending a smoker.

socially, i guess. i used to smoke quite a bit when i was around 16 but gave up. if i'm going out i might get a packet, it depends on how i feel or i'll borrow one and buy a packet next time and share about. i get cravings quite a bit still, probably because my bf smokes but i push on and forget about it. if i'm mega stressed it feels quite lovely! i stopped because i hated the taste in my mouth and would always have to eat something afterwards.
i started out of curiosity and continued because i thought it was quite nice. all my close group of friends smoked at the time too so that kind of added to it, as we'd generally buy cigarettes then goto our local park and smoke like chimneys and same at school and stuff :P
a lot of people at college smoke, so i find it hard not to now!! only two smoke out of my friendship group in college, one will only smoke at home and the other just runs off by herself to smoke so it's not the worst.

To the person who called me arrogant, you are either a smoker yourself or very foolish. I don't want involved with anyone that's slowly taking their life away, whether it's by smoking or something else. I've already experienced that once too many.

Yet again another -rep. As said before, you're either a smoker or a fool. And as said briefly before, this doesn't just go for smoking. This goes for all serious things that causes a greater chance of loss of life. It's not just yourself, it's your family and friends you have to think about before doing anything such as a drug or as serious.
The mere fact of the -rep proves how clueless you are. I don't -rep people for saying they do smoke and are friends with all smokers.

It's not just the smell of the actual smoke that's bad, it's the smell of the smoke on the actual person that's bad. I can't stand people that smell of cigarette smoke.

I just de-virginized my cigarette lighter in my new car!! I love the smell of cigarette smoke and stale cigarette smoke.. reminds me of home and family!
I do smoke, been smoking for about 2 years. I don't smoke as much as some people, I get a 50g pouch which usually lasts me a fortnight, sometimes a month. I started because I was surrounded by friends who did and I was easily pressured at the time. I like the smell and it just chills me out for a bit. I for some reason don't like the smell of it when its on my clothing though, so I often carry around a lynx can to cover it up.
don't particularly care too much about others views on it, its my choice to 'kill my lungs' or 'get cancer'. Don't really appreciate the Stop Smoking brigade trying to shove their nicotine gum down my throat or lecturing me about things I already know, but that's like most people.

Another thing that annoys me, is smokers that smoke in front of their children. Fair enough if you don't mind the risks, you're perfectly aware of that etc. But I don't see why you should smoke in front of your own children.

but no i havent smoked before and dont plan on it haha i had yellow fingernails before from nailvarnish and they looked GROSS
idk how i'd cope if i got them from smoking;ll
