Is this Friday! I don't think many places in the UK have discounts though - or at least not as many as the US anyway as that's where the whole Black Friday thing originates. But we can expect discounts at some major UK retailers this Friday, e.g. Apple :D. Did anyone else know about this? I know quite a few of my friends hadn't heard of it before! I think I found out about it last year.

I've heard of it but it's never really made a difference to me because nothing much happens around where I live :(

Grabbed the Times Concise Atlas for my fathers birthday for £18 in Amazon Flash Deals - decent price, way under half the price of anywhere else.

Would have got some mini Casserole dishes but forgot what time they were on offer ;(

Oh I see - I've only ever really known about deals online :L Wish we had Black Friday like the Americans have it. I always find it amusing when people complain about massive savings because it is American... I mean, what? :L

Got my hands on what I wanted; although the discount wasn't quite as great as last time. A similar product is available later, so I'll try and get that too.

Buy, then cancel or send back if necessary.

Keep checking back every few minutes or so, the 100% gone means that people have just put it in their basket, but they might not have processed their order. If you're lucky enough to have it in your basket you have it for 15 minutes - unless you take it out. I found this out earlier.

I wanted this grow your own bonsai tree set and it was on offer for £6.99, but when I checked it was gone. It was just I saw it then I decided I wanted it as it's a great present and I'm sure the recipient would love it. Anyway, the deal was almost over so I clicked add to waitlist just in case someone had it in their basket, but it actually went in my basket so I got it. Plus I forgot I had a gift voucher from ages ago, so it only cost me £1.99!

Also got a Bench hoody on the official site, I saw it was meant to be £25.00 and this was just after midnight, so I clicked buy went to checkout and it was reduced to £15.99, but I had 10% off too because of black Friday so £13.50 and free delivery isn't too bad.

Got the Wii U console on Play.com for £199.99 with the Mario games, also got Just Dance 2014 for Wii. Bought two lots of One Direction's perfume for my sister, also noticed some Yankee Candles that she'd like. Origin is also having a sale on, I'm tempted to get some Sim expansion packs.

I only heard about black Friday for the first time yesterday, I think I've spent too much.

The waitlist works if you are quick, or the item isn't particularly wanted. Like CD's and cheap items are not that popular. Cameras that go from £200 to £100 are - and the Wait list was also full!

If you were seriously expecting a real discount from Apple you were hugely mistaken.
