Hey!
Christmas time is a time where community spirit seems to be a little higher than usual. Each year our community gets together to +rep everyone and bring jolly Christmas cheer (yay). This year I wanted to try and do something that I did at a workplace last year, a lot of community/workplaces do this kind of event. An event where you buy someone a present and you get a present in return, but its 100% anonymous.. A Secret Santa!
What is a Secret Santa?
A Secret Santa is a Christmas "tradition" where a group of people put their name on a list (or in a hat). Once everyone taking part has their name down, they will be picked out again at random and given to another member of the list. Once everyone has got a random name from the list they buy them a present and send it to them anonymously to their given person, therefore you know who you are buying for, but not who you are receiving from! Everybody gets something, everybody gives something.
How will this Secret Santa work?
Firstly! This is totally voluntary, there is no obligation to join in. It's a little bit of fun on the run up to Christmas.
- This will be a Habbo Client based Secret Santa, you will be given a name from my list. Once you have been given the name there will be a couple of weeks so you can buy your gift and anonymously gift it to them on Habbo. I will be looking after the list of names, and accepting names up until the 8th December. This gives me a chance to randomise the lists out and PM you the person to buy for.
- In order to join all you need to do is reply to this thread saying that you want to take part! To make it as fair and as flexible as possible there are a couple of boundaries:
[*=center]One present per person, which must be anonymous
[*=center]The price range will be 3c - 10c, hopefully this will help keep it a little fair. It has been pointed out to me that it wouldn't be so fun if you spent 50c on a present and got a duck in return hence the small price range.
[*=center]No swapping or trading names
- As it would be unfair for me to actually participate, I will be hosting random draws for people on the list over the next few weeks, this could be all sorts of things and is a little extra incentive!
It would be great to see as many people join in as possible, and if you have any questions post below!
