Wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me.

I regularly delete my chrome cache, history etc. but certain searches aren't being deleted - It tends to be searches done on forums and forum titles.

Basically if I create a new topic on here, I can see some titles in the title box I have used for other topics not just limited to this forum. If I type into the search box on here, same thing, I can see searches I have done on this and other forums.

I have posted this problem with screenshots onto the Google Chrome forum but haven't had any replies.

Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

I haven't been having this problem; if it continues try and delete and uninstall your chrome re download it?

sounds like it's synced with a google account, change your settings.

maybe you have them saved on bookmarks?
it could be a reason why they still show up
or you probably arent signed in on your googlechrome account when you delete your history

I sync everything but when I clear the history on both phone and desktop these still remain

I decided to clear everything again from both my android and pc chrome and then remove chrome completely from my desktop and re-install but that didn't fix the issue - I removed all the files, app data and used ccleaner to make sure there where no registry leftovers.

This means its linked to the account but how I don't know.

click on the three lines on the right next to the url box
scroll down till it says sign in and log on it with your gmail account
when you log on it just delete your history again
if that doesnt work then idk

I don't tend to trust browsers to do the whole lot properly anyway since they'll always want some sort of ad cookies or something floating around :P if I want a full wipe of it I use CCleaner (https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) to do it all for me and it has a load of other bits and pieces it can do for you at the same time

Yeah tried CCleaner to and that removed the general history but not this

Oh there should be a box to tick on CCleaner that's "saved form information" which ought to do it, if not I'd try screaming at the computer for a few hours and maybe kicking it if that doesn't work

Try this:
Go to Google Dashboard (https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard). Scroll down to Chrome Sync and click Manage Chrome Sync (actually ignore first step and go here (https://www.google.com/settings/chrome/sync) instead). Then press on Stop and Clear. It will remove everything you synchronised on Chrome but the browser will resync - though I think you have to sign in to sync again.

All my bookmarks etc are synced. Will this clear them on both ends or will they stay on my desktop?
