The other day I was walking to the car to meet my mum and these two girls were smoking and their smoke blew in my face. It was quite annoying because I don't really like smoking and I wouldn't rather be around it. It was even more annoying because they were younger than me and was doing it right outside of school. LIKE WHY? I don't think they like me anymore... chavs erg.
So, what do you think?
p.s. I say teens because adults don't blow it in my face.

i kinda feel sorry for them cause some might be doing it to impress ppl n endangering themselves in the process and i wanna say STOP NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE but mostly i don't care. find it so weird seeing young people smoke but i was doing it on the street when i was 14-looking-12. + idk how people bought me **** when i was young, if anyone asks me I would tell them to jog on.
never had people blow it in my face on purpose but even as an occasional smoker myself, it really bugs me when people smoke in front of me when queuing up for the bus and the smoke comes back in your face. i also want to put a sign next to my seat saying no smokers please cause they smell rank. i only smoke if i know my friends are ok with it and even then i step away from them if they aren't smoking too, i don't do it in a busy street when walking past people cause i don't like it myself.
dk y it turned into a rant soz

Why feel sorry for them? Not being funny but people in similar situation can deny so they can too. I just don't have feelings asorry. Like I will only feel sorry for them if they are really being forced into it... them girls wasn't. I don't like years 7 and 8s.

they're just setting themselves up for dependency on cigarettes when they get older, dumb little kids
it's vile 'cause usually it's the parents buying them the cigarettes

yeah I learned it was an easy way to socialize (although u can learn that at any age) so ive had a dependency on them for that reason only. first thing i do at my friends is spark a cig bc it helps me talk to her better, she's just so boring lol
oh and my mum didnt know i smoked, even at 21 she says she's disappointed n will throw out any **** or lighters of mine she finds

it's their choice to pick up smoking, so don't really mind it that much.

Most of the people that I know that do it are complete ***** who don't have a chance at doing anything with their life anyway. So let them.
I think it's just something a lot of teenagers need to get out of their system. It will come to no surprise to any of you that I used to smoke at school. As soon as I went to college I didn't smoke anymore and haven't since.. but there's no excuse to blow it in your face really is there?

I don't think the really young kids understand the health issues it can cause, and they'll probably regret it later.
I think they just want to look cool in front of their friends...

Don't have an opinion on them, their life and their choice. Which they will regret without doubt... I've smoked since I was 16, my mum used to buy them for me. No she's not a bad mother she just knew if she didn't I still would've found a way to buy them anyway and at 16 you're old enough to make your own choices and take responsibility.

I see why most teens start it (peer pressure, thinking it's cool etc) but seeing 11-12 year olds smoking it's a shame for them. Will make most of them hooked for the rest of their lives. :(
Teen smokers don't bother me, I started smoking at 17 so it would be hypocritical.
i do get annoyed when little kids act cool because they're smoking and go out of their way to blow smoke at you. Even though I smoke, it pisses me off. When I smoke I go out my way to keep the smoke away from others, it's just common decency
I think most probably do it to look cool/peer pressure. My mum started when she was like 11. Such an expensive and gross habit though. My and my friend were approached by what looked like 10 year olds asking us to buy them cigarettes. We were just like UMM NO.
quite a lot of people in my year smoke which is a bit silly but they started like year 7 so idk they don't really bother me, i feel bad for them though since the people in my year like 7/10 of them want to quit but they cant
it annoys me though how its obviously made people think differently of teens since whenever i go to town, people will come up to me and ask me for a lighter which is a bit silly since i'm only 14 ;l

I know someone who is 14, she smokes. Her mum knows, and didn't use to, but now buys her cigarettes. Mainly because the girl says she either will smoke or self harm. - (One or other so that stress can be controlled).
I don't agree with it. No where near. I think it's disgusting that parents buying 14 year olds cigarettes. makes me angry.
Actually annoys me when someone comes to ask me for a lighter too. Since WHEN do i look like I want to smoke, let alone actually doing it.
I was offered 5 times in Westfield Stratford City shopping centre if I wanted to buy E-Lite Cigarettes for JUST £99!… After continually saying ' I don't smoke, and won't smoke' they didn't quite get the message. So ended up in the good ol' *REMOVED* off. haha.
But still, back to topic; it's disgusting. sorry; not sorry.

yeah I hate it when people ask me for a lighter ;llllllllllll
there's a girl in my year (so 14yrs old) who smokes but her parents dont care
she went past me the other day afterschool when i was walking but she was in her parents car having a cig out the window ??? surely her parents would try stop her smoking or something rather than letting her just smoke out the window
a lot of people in my school smoke though, in my school there's a place called "the smokers corner" in the playground and people go there because teachers can't see as there as so many trees and they just smoke there

He she needs a psychiatrist not cigarettes. Her mother is a moron.
It's vile and they're probably gonna influence other people cause they think smoking looks cool and they have to start taking up this habit in order to fit in with their friends and needless to say, it's dangerous and would be linked to health issues and it'd be difficult to attempt to quit this habit
but i don't really care tho as long as they don't blow it in my face

At the end of the day it's their choice. However, it is annoying when smoke blows into your face but adults can do it too, it's not really fair to pinpoint teens, it depends on what way the wind is blowing I guess.

She actually has a councilor. That makes her worse actually. Her Councillor is shockingly bad! Rude. No care.
Doesn't help :(

Doesn't bother me unless the smoke is blowing to me. Let them kill themselves, doesn't bother me |-)
Only a couple people in my school smoke though so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me? Though the above applies to adults smoking too.

as a teen and adult smoker I see nothing wrong with it.

I hate when you're in public like at a bus stop and a random person next to you starts smoking and then the smoke is blowing in to your face :(.

Imo, it's their life, if they want to screw it up, that's on them.
Providing they don't try to get me involved or smoke around me, I'm good.

Woah, this is actually annoying me a little.
You say you don't like 'teen smokers' because they're the ones that 'blow it in your face'. I'm sure that's not because they're teens... and do you mean purposely blew it into your face or you walked past and the smoke went into your face? there's a difference.
everyone slating teen smokers... smoking doesn't 'screw up' your life, it doesn't make you a bad person and to be quite frank, it's absolutely none of your business is someone smokes out of their parents car or their parents buy them the cigarettes.
A lot of parents buy their 'children' cigarettes because (especially if they also smoke) they'll end up stealing them off their parents, buying them off other 'kids' in the playground or getting random strangers to buy them.
I agree, it doesn't look good for a teen/ child of 11/12 to be smoking, I think that's vile, they don't know the dangers of it and don't fully understand what addiction can do. 14/15 isn't much better but at that age it's talked about so much in school, they have a more clear understanding of what cigarettes are and can make that decision. It's not pleasant to see people of such young ages smoking but it's their choice at the end of the day. I smoked when I was 15, I didn't flaunt it and not many people knew I did. luckily, I didn't get addicted and it was literally a Friday / Saturday night thing.
It really does anger me with how judgmental you all seem to be on the subject of smoking. Unless they're around you, which I understand it's not nice, it has NOTHING to do with anyone but the smoker themselves.
The original post was very cringeworthy.

Whenever I was in high school kids would always smoke in the bathrooms/courtyard. It was mad annoying, however I only think majority of teen smokers start smoking because they think it's cool or w/e . No ones ever blown smoke in my face though, how rude!

I say teen smokers because I don't spend time with adults who smoke... and it's mainly chavs so yes, they do it on purpose.
I'm not sure but doesn't it affect us all? Like money will be spend on looking after them and helath care and stuff... Idk know how much...
Just did a quick search and this post says 5billion a year is what is used on smoking

Chavs to me are people who have a certain attitude to society. :)

I think that when they take it up, the younger they are they don't understand the health risks, and do it just to impress their peers. But I feel no sympathy for them, if their 'street cred' is all that matters to them then they need to sort out their attitude. Plus, it really annoys me when people smoke outside in a public place. They banned it in public places, but busy places like the town center I think it needs stopping too. I think all smoking should only go on in designated smoking areas even outdoors.
