I'll have a look into backgrounds and possible wall posters like the jungle and forest. I just worry they'll detract from the brown/yellow theme

You could always use Haunted forest walls? Maybe. So you have a wall, but it's still with the brown theme.

Shame about the gate thing as it looks a little weird, maybe you could use one gate and then have something that links the higher level barriers to the gate, not sure if there's any furni though that'd make that work and look good. nice room though :D

if you did this in another room design, you could've made an illusion of a bar on top of the gates. That might look nice.
