in both film and tv what would you say attracts you the most?

it could be anything from the actors, trailers, genre, spectacle or even reviews

for me i'd say it's mainly genre and then trailers. wbu?

sometimes i've watched movies because I've found them through an actors idmb page

usually tv series its through recommendation or adverts

reviews also play a part, usually if i'm looking for a movie to watch i wont usually watch something with less than say 6 on idmb

oh and tv & film forums

TV - The storyline and recommendations. A lot of recent shows I've watched have been from people on Tumblr reblogging it and me thinking it looks interesting. A few have been because of the actors.

Film - Actors usually and often because it's a movie version of a book.

Good storyline/plot, recommendations and trailers. Not necessarily the actors. I could start watching a tv show/film without knowing who any of the actors are. Also if they're based on a book I like.

Anything I stumble across in the little time I use the TV for that grabs my attention. The Blacklist being the most recent... James Spader is an amazing actor and to see him as a huge part in that drew me to the series more.

For both it's usually either seeing it all over tumblr, reading the book previously or the actors that draw me in although gorgeous animation is a winner too sometimes I don't care what the movies about if it has really well done animation I'll watch it. It's usually the first point though.

Genre really. I'm a huge fan of horror/creepy/thriller movies. The more scared and jumpy I am, the better.

Sometimes the actors, like if my favourite actors are in it I will generally watch it. If it was a good book and it was made into a film I will watch it. Or if the director has a good reputation, I will watch it.

I don't really go for actors and don't really have a favourite. I'm a big horror fan so I look out for horrors and probably go for directors more than actors such as Dario Argento (at least his early work), John Carpenter etc. Usually if there's a director you like you know you'll enjoy most of their films regardless of who's in it or at least that's what I tend to find.

For films usually actors and trailers, unless it's a film adaptation of a book I've already read.

For TV series, a good plot is essential. If I don't like the storyline, I won't bother watching later seasons. I also quite like series that have cliffhangers and twist and turns, they're good :)

Usually just one of my favourite actors would sell it for me. Or if it's a favourite book gone film. Or a specific genre like apocalyptic. I'm not often tempted by reviews or trailers.

genres, actors and ratings. I don't watch romcoms in the cinema because I lose attention so I usually only watch thrillers/action and slapstick comedy (jackass, kickass etc etc)
