Left hand side is what will appear on the Hotel View and right hand side is what will popup to verify your number.

I'm not sure what the purpose of this hidden feature is, but it may be for the next event and to force users into verifying their numbers to gain furniture gifts.

Could it not possibly be two-step verification? It'd make a lot more sense than the security questions as you don't have to remember the answers.

This will be handy for account security couldn't it? Like if you lost access to your account they could send you a text message with a code or something?

Given Habbo's history with security breaches, I'm not sure I would trust putting my phone number in to their system. But then again, I suppose they handle transactions for Habbo credits every day without problems.

Payment step or another way to unlock account?

Their security breaches have mostly always been associated with their help tool, which is a 3rd party tool.

The funniest thing is, people cry for security like this - yet half of Habbos give out their number freely like idiots.

Where does your 'half of Habbo's' statistic come from :P? Anyway, if you needed to put your phone number in and then enter a security code messaged to that number, just knowing the number wouldn't help surely? This seems interesting anyway, but I agree with the comment above about security breaches - I'll just use my second phone rather than my main one :).

Well obviously I wasn't giving a realistic sum as I clearly don't take a poll nor know half of Habbo, but it's just an over exaggerated guess to give an idea of how bad this idea could turn out.

It would work to some extent for extra security, but I don't know if I would personally input my number - security or promo

Just think of it as another safety measure in case something unexpected happens.

No, pretty sure the Zendesk software would run from another database, your user is created/logged in when you first visit the help.habbo.com.

Yet they still have access to our DOB, the date our account was created on, our email address, the email address the account was created with, our credit details, and our ID/Habbo name details? :P

I do not trust them with my phone number, they are so incompetent when it comes to keeping personal info secure.

I never said they didn't? I was referring to our mobile number.

What makes you think they won't have access to that?

They already have access to our credit purchases, which means if you buy credits via your mobile phone (either calling or SMS) - they already have your mobile number.
