DSLR Help

I'm in a bit of trouble to find myself a good DSLR camera that is around £150. Could anyone help me out with this?

You're not gonna find a decent DSLR at that price.

it think you need a bit of a higher budget

good entry level DSLRs are around 250-300

i'd recommend something like the canon 1100d or nikon d3100

For that price I would recommend getting a camera that is a couple of generations old. It won't be as feature-full as the latest generation, but the picture quality will still be on par. It's the lenses that are the real investment, not the camera body.

Well really they can't be compared. Feature-wise the Nikon will be better. If you're looking to spend £280 which is what the Nikon costs then you should be comparing it to the 1100D.
Having used both Nikon and Canon cameras, I am of the opinion that Canons are generally nicer to use. The image quality is so similar it isn't even worth comparing.
As for video quality, Canon takes the upper hand.

Yeah your not going to get a good DSLR for £100, probably a pre-owned one from eBay. You would need to increase your budget.

You should look into the ecosystem you're locking yourself into instead. Ultimately Canon pretty much owns the high end at the moment due to their high use for video so it probably makes sense to go for them. Ultimately the base unit isn't very important. Splash out as much as you can on lenses instead as they can be used on future cameras. You may even be better off getting a second hand base unit and spending more at a later stage.

This. More professionals use Canon than Nikon, and with good reason: the quality of their EF lenses are second to none as well.
Nikon would be better for studio work, they have the same set of functions, but tweaking of settings takes longer on a Nikon as settings are buried deeper in the menus: notice how the paparazzi mostly use the white (Canon) telephoto lenses as opposed to black (Nikon) telephoto lenses; they use Canon because there's less messing about before taking the shot, and also because Nikon doesn't make weather sealed lenses like Canon do.
Having used both myself I prefer Canon to Nikon, and have owned two Canons.
