Hi,

I'm at Cardiff University and have been since September. At Cardiff the internet is the same across the whole
campus is the same, so that's in the halls, the library, the lecture theatres, wherever. For some reason whenever I try to go on Habbo, the page appears as inserted below. I can sign in but the page is still the same and client
will not load. When home for Christmas a friend on habbo suggested downloading Zenmate by Google Chrome to
by pass anything on the uni's internet that stops this from loading. I also tried Runescape just to see if it was Habbo or something from all games like that and Runescape did not work either. I don't know if someone knows the problem and a solution to it or is it something in the uni's internet that isn't fixable? Anyone at Cardiff University or another university and have the same problems?

Cheers,
Hawni (Sportix on Habbo)

Does your computers have Shockwave installed? Some Uni's block it to stop people using Shockwave material, same with Java (for Runescape)

Not all universitys have this, I don't know what your problem is. Try clear your cache.

Aberystwyth is clearly superior.

But yeah this is probably a problem with shockwave/flash/java - many universities don't install it and it's incredibly annoying, especially when it's on something you actually need to access!

It should work if you connected your own computer to the network though?

Maybe it's a sign not to play Habbo at University? :)

I used to get a page like this when my internet was slow so most likely it's your cache or internet speed is really slow

Tried clearing the cache, didn't work. What does Miniclip use? that was another thing I tried to see if that would work and it works fine. It could be to do with shockwave though, my friend suggested that because the internet is on such a wide scale it may not have shockwave because it will slow the whole thing down. I take it that there's nothing I can do if this is the problem?

Easiest way to find out what's causing the issue is to open Developer Tools in Chrome and navigate to "Network" on the bottom bar. See which appears red and the error it shows.

Your issue appears to-be with CSS, the website doesn't use Shockwave, so ignore everybody who mentions Shockwave.

One thing comes up in red which is:

I don't know why you would go on habbo at uni... I only pop on like every few days for 10 mins to speak to like one person.

Why are people saying it's a problem with shockwave/flash?

It's the homepage that isn't displaying correctly, not the client.

I've been playing since 2005 so I'm not going to quit just because I'm in a different sort of education. Obviously I go on less but I still want to go on to talk to people more often than every 3 months. And the homepage loads like in the screenshot I put up, I can log in and when I click Enter Habbo it just loads a plain white screen.
