View Full Version : Were you happier 7 years ago?
I was going to make it 10 years but i know some members here are still pretty young
No as you've got bullied at school, something tragic happened to you or maybe you were reckless and less mature back then? or Yes as life was much simpler and less things to worry about back in the days?
I was definitely happier 7 years ago, all i have to think about is going to school and going back home, and study a little bit for exams but i've absolutely regretted that now lol

This is a tough question because I think I view happiness differently to when I did back then. 7 years ago I was 13, I had no worries, no exams - didn't have to think about money. Obviously now, I have those issues... But I'm an adult. I can do what I want, and I have a lot more freedom.
I'd say I'm happier now just because I'm more in control of my life I guess, it's a lot more hard work now than 7 years ago, but it'll pay off.

Being 13 was easier, but right now I have so much more to live for :) Yes, I'm happier now.

i was like 11 and erm at that time I didn't have a lot of friends but yeahh life was better lol
I was much happier 7 years ago. Even if I did get kicked out of school, I still aced my GCSEs without doing virtually any work for two years. It was my time for rebellion, loved it! Probably the best two years of my life because I just did what I wanted to. No responsibilities :D
too much to weigh up
things were easier but i have so much freedom now (above legal ages such as driving, drinking, sexy time :p) can travel, meet new ppl so easily etc.
who knows its completely different

I was 17, unmedicated and going through some of the biggest changes in my life so nope not sure that I was any happier then. Ups and downs all over the place so difficult to say anyway :P

i was 14 and definitely happier, i had just made an amazing group of extremely supportive friends and was starting to think independently, didn't have a job yet so my only worry was school. at 14 I hadn't experienced any loss or heartbreaks then, everything was new and exciting

I was 13, before a stage of anything that bad happened, so I guess I was fine? But naive - id prefer to be in a more mature, wiser place than a 13 year old's brain.

I was 13 so I was probably taking crap from people at school and feeling miserable about it. :P So the answer is no! I'm much happier 7 years on! :)

I don't actually think I was. I was never bullied at school, nor did I have any issues or drama, but my life has never been massively exciting and I know more now than I did then.
I think I'm happier now.
I loved being 12, I was probably happier but I don't think you realise how sweet it is being 12 so I probably wasnt as happy as I imagined
I wish I could be 12 but with the friends I have now and for all of them to be 12 too but we all know what we know now

I would have been 15 - No, I was going through a rough patch at that age and don't want to get into it.
would've been 7 :P idk was prob really happy but im really happy now as well so i wouldnt say i was happier  i get on with a lot more people now as well like in primary school i was the nerd that no one wanted to hang out with because it wasnt cool so had like 3 friends lmao, am also a lottt more confident now and i'm happy to muck about and do whatever whereas before i wouldnt haha would just sit and watch people do it for me (H) o im able to do stuff that makes me happy now by myself now so dont need my mum to hold my hand and cross the road with me anymore, im able to just go out and feed the ducks or go to london or go to a themepark and idk all sorts just things that i think are fab and make me happy and she wont mind
no clue if that made sense
No I was quite naive back then.
Well in 2006 I had a really rough year. Within a period of few months, I lost 3 grandparents, 2 friends and my granda had a heart attack. So is we are taking 7 years then no cause it was just after all this happened. Pre-2006 though, I was happier :)

I would have been 12/13 just getting the Internet and just realising what's out there. In terms of getting the Internet I'm happier now, although I would have liked it earlier to an extent. However, generally I'm still happier now with the people I have in my life and available to me.

7 years ago I was about 12 years old. Yeah I was way happier back when I was 12. I had lots of friends and was pretty outgoing. Not so much anymore x]
I was 13 and I couldn't defend myself so I always let insults get to me and stuff. I feel much happier now really :P.

I would have been 11 or 12 so no. Lots of my friends started to "grow up" and turn into pretentious ********s. I'm surprised I made new friends considering how addicted to Habbo I was.

11 just about to start my last year of primary school, I probably wasn't happier then because I hated primary school, I had more friends then but the friendships weren't as close. Things are more stressful now but overall I'm happier yeah.

Still in High school back then. Suppose I consider those the 'good ol days'. But that pertains to reminiscing. It has been hard as of late. All in all, hell yeah. Way better! Personally, at an increment of 7 years, each threshold should be better than the last. Negating traumatic experiences, if it's not any better.... wtf have you been doing with your time?
