- Amou Haji, 80, chose this way of life after some 'emotional setbacks'
- The 80-year-old now lives in a hole near a village in southern Iran
- He doesn't wash, because he believes being clean will make him sick

He's single and he's looking for love.

But, to win his heart, you'd have to accept his rather unconventional lifestyle.

Amou Haji has not washed for 60 years, because he believes being clean will make him sick, and his favourite food is rotten porcupine.

To relax he likes to sit down and have a smoke, from a pipe packed with animal faeces.

Mr Haji, 80, says he chose this way of life after going through some emotional setbacks in his youth and since then - perhaps unsurprisingly - he has become a bit isolated.

it is true being too clean can rid of good bacteria that protect you from sickness but i don't think smoking animal poop n eating rotting porcupine is much better. still, he's alive isn't he..

My hair gets greasy if it is unwashed for a day and I can't handle that! Besides, being clean is so refreshing :) Each to their own I guess, but the judgmental side of me wouldn't go near him.

ya but living in a dirty condition helps protect you from sickness too cause their body immune system wont overreact when they are exposed to unfamiliar antigens which explains why this guy and farmers won't get sick easily I guess

The human immune system is strangely quite powerful. Being too clean can be bad for you. Avoid Dettol, that stuff is bad for anyone with a low immunity (who ironically are the ones it is marketed for) because it doesn't do them any favours. I know because when I had a splenectomy I was told to play in the mud and avoid Dettol. Pretty much those exact words :P
