Are You an Accent Sponge??? What I mean by that, is after hearing someones accent, you will just start talking in that accent. OR Watching a Television show from a different place (like Canada/Usa -> England) you'll pick up bits of that accent. For me Watching Doctor Who religiously, I've kinda picked up the accent a wee bit and it's kinda permanentAlso just in the moment if I talk to someone who gots a different accent, like Chinese, I'll go into that accent a bit Idk I might just be crazy or w.e

YES OMFG IT'S SO ANNOYING. In my AS Maths class I accidentally did it to a girl who was sat next to me speaking in an "indian" accent (sorry generalising) and I SPOKE BACK TO HER IN THE SAME ACCENT AND I APOLOGISED SO MUCH OMF.

When I watched loads of torchwood episodes, i started speaking in a welsh accent sometimes also... :S

If it's English or Australian then yeah, because I've lived there before so I soaked up the Aussie accent (IMO) in no time :(. I reckon if I went back to the Uk I'd get my old accent back.

I don't really find I do it when I'm talking to people or when I'm watching TV but in November I did a show and had to speak in such a bogger accent and I swear I kept it for like a week ;ll

yeah quite a big one in fact

I'm around an irish guy, a french guy, a few romanians and a south african quite a lot @ work and sometimes if I'm speaking to them I'll start imitating their accent but try and style it out when it comes out

I've picked up quite a lot of foreign sayings aswell from the irish guy

I keep wanting to say mam now

but now he's gone back to ireland so I'm recovering

When I talk to people with a dissimilar accent I tend to find myself trying to hide any posh bits of my accent. Force of habit I think.

My sister does it when we go visit family from other parts of the country, she'll just automatically start talking the same way they do but not for me no.

Never ever had a strong scouse accent considering how close I lived to Liverpool.

But since moving to Manchester for University my accents definitely changed, especially being around with people from all around the UK in my accommodation.

Yeah, I do. I start talking scottish when I'm around my mum's family, and Spanish accent with my Spanish friends. Also my ex-friend irl if from up North Hull, I think it's called, I used to sound like her for ages.

Almost everyone who goes to my college has a really posh British accent and cause I'm around them more than people who speak my horrible northern accent I'm kind of starting to speak the same way and say words different

Yeah. When I go to the corner shop and they're Indian people serving me, I start speaking in their accent without noticing... :'(
