Pretty much so. There was only one big thing I was hiding from my mum (and we're pretty close) and I told her it last night.

Nope, I keep everything in my life hidden from my mum.
As far as she knows I'm a sweet little innocent girl who would never dream of getting close to older guys at this age (a)

Nothing to do with parents lol, I arrived at my own conclusions myself. I agree with her.
But anyway, it's out of the way now. I said to her well at least i'm luckier than most in that some people have the worst lives possible like disabled kids, terminal illness...... at least I have my health (for now anyway) and we're lucky as a family.
now ur parents know the real u my thread is already helping ppl
Lmao Lots and lots that they don't know xoxoxo
Inseriousity.

Having disabled kids can actually be very rewarding!
Well they don't know I'm bi but it doesn't really feel like some big secret cos as subo said I'd still be same person so yeah they know the real me.

I'd say my parents know the real me however relationships I don't tell them until it's serious. (They don't even know I'm in a relationship now) :P.

Yeah me and my mum are quite close. She knows quite a lot about me but there's obviously certain things you skim over. I think once you move out your relationship changes with your parents and you enjoy spending time with them more so. I look forward to when I'm invited over for dinner so we can have a chat! :)
Nah I don't think they do, I don't really tell them anything unless they ask, it's mainly because they're really annoying when it comes to real things and my mom just tells everyone everything she learns about me and 'cause we're kind of different with our views I don't really enjoy getting into discussions with them 'cause I'll just have to pretend I agree with their onion
I don't like introducing my family to girls, I wouldn't talk to them about realtionships & I do my best to never bring girls to my house unless it's the last option - mom just overreacts to everything then tells my whole family tree and it's just ******* horrrible
Whenever I go out I'll just say "I'm going town"
I've never really drank around my family
Although, I'm always honest with my parents if they ask me, I'll tell my parents I smoke socially if they ask and that I'd try cocaine if given the opportunity
but as far as knowing me, I don't think I speak or see them enough for that

no they don't know the real me at all, such as me being gay, my true personality or whatever. also my dad doesnt know about my drinking either (though my mum does and actively encourages it)
My dad doesn't know I smoke, but my mum does.
I don't think my parents know the extent of my drinking, although I have, on many occasions, come rolling in extremely drunk, but I guess they don't know how quickly or how much I actually consume. Other than that, not really much else is hidden :P

I wouldn't say my parents know me very well, but I don't hide anything. They know I'm engaged, and I don't drink, smoke etc. So there's nothing to hide?

Having disabled kids can actually be very rewarding!
Oh no don't think I mean it as in disabled children are bad/unworthy, not at all - they're some of the sweetest kids just I wouldn't wish some of their dreadful conditions on my worst enemy, life is cruel as they say. And I have to say, I regard the parents and relatives of children in wheelchairs/with conditions as beyond praise. What some of their parents have to put up with (through no fault of their own or the kids) is unimaginable.
Inseriousity.
07-02-2014, 09:32 PM
Yeah, I didn't think that was right, the way it was worded made it sound like "nooooooo my kid is disabled, this is the end of the world!" haha

Up until a couple of months ago they knew very little about me. I have since told them everything and they now know pretty much everything.

I think they know me pretty well, they know I volunteer on here and they have figured it out themselves what I've done with my boyfriend I believe. I don't really tell them much though, but for the first time ever I've actually told them I'm off shopping with someone and not on my own like I used that excuse with my ex and current boyfriend before telling them I was seeing them :P.
There's a few things that happened years ago they don't know though, but that's in the past and I don't think they'd mind too much now though I guess.
I tell my parents more or less everything.

No. Whenever I tried being myself around my dad he just took the piss or got angry and I just don't bother as far as my mum is concerned.
I recently let my mum on some pretty big things in my life and so that's all good. There's not much to know about me other than the extent of my mental problems which I hide for two reasons, embarrassment and being made to feel stupid.

My parents definitely know the real me, and know me well. And I tell them everything, mainly because I have nothing bad to hide at all, but also because there is no point lying. It's best to be honest with them regardless, they respect me for being honest and trust me.
In other news, is my wedding being discussed again ^^ :P
I'm an open person but my parents certainly don't know the real me.

No.
There's a lot of stuff I keep to myself and the extent of things I keep to myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a drug taking **** that sleeps with everyone I can but I'm not perfect.

Of course I keep secrets from my mom, but nothing major. She doesn't really butt into my business anyways. I've lied to her a few times about where I was going and what I was doing, but later on told her the truth about it, which then she made me feel silly about lying to her in the first place. As far as drinking goes, my mom usually is the one who buys my liquor. Shes been doing so since I was about 15.

I don't talk to my father very often, but I tell my mum anything she wants to know.
I have no secrets, and if she wants to know something then I will tell her.
I still live with her, and my partners tend to stay over if I'm in a relationship - it'd be pretty difficult not to tell her.
I have lied a few times, but only white lies and nothing massively major.
My mum is aware that I drink a lot, she tends to do the same.
If her parents smoke then I can understand Laura's parents not guessing, but if they don't then it's pretty hard not to smell the smoke.
My mum knows what I get up to, she knows I'm no angel but I'm still the good child. ;)
