Hello Habbox :)

Okay so I have no idea if this has ever been brought up in the debates section before so forgive me if it has.
My question is should junk food and drinks be banned for children?

Take a minute to think about this. Sure everyone loves sweets and fizzy drinks but is it really good for our health? Statistics show that more and more children (UK, Not too sure about anywhere else) Are becoming more obese!
Is this due to the fact that most Schools allow children to bring in junk food into the school or are parents being
too generous to their kids these days?

Sometimes people think they are kids they should enjoy it while they can and give them sugary things as it is a
treat but maybe that treat is becoming more regular.
Think about it if children keep eating all of these fatty foods by the time they are in their adult hood they could
be obese.

Now lets not get the wrong idea here, Obese isn't a bad thing if that offends anyone. Nor am I saying we
should ban junk food/drinks altogether. Maybe we should all take a look and think about it for a while how many
people do you know that get to eat/drink sugary stuff all day? If not many then okay but in general a lot of
children are becoming more obese by the minute.

P.S No I am not some horrible person thinking we should ban junk food/drinks I like to have the sort of stuff my self its too tasty.

However dis-including the fact if you like it or not what to you think about this?
Maybe you think I am talking out of my ass or that you think that maybe we should take a step back and look
at the standards we have as today's society should we be cutting back on junk food/drink? Maybe it is not just
for children maybe we should all cut back on this stuff?

Thanks for your opinions! (Sorry for the long post)

It isn't the job of the state to tell parents what to feed their children or indeed to forcibly feed them a certain diet. My mother and father were there to sort out my diet, Tony Blair rightly had nothing to do with such a decision.

The nannying in western countries is becoming unbearable to the extent that many on the left favour replacing the family with the state.

Actually sick to death of how many people want everything this side of the sun regulated Christ. No I don't support this, more education on how parents can feed their children healthily is a better idea.

To an extent - yes. The only reason I don't agree with this is that it's business, and these corporations will lose money, but also chocolate is needed, just excessive amount is not.

Some parents won't learn, they just go for the easy option of feeding there kids a load of crap, or there fat themselves. Obviously a total *ban* is stupid because chocolate provides energy, and is particularly good before a sport that you play.

In schools i think it can be regulated. I know some schools here have put bans on energy drinks which I don't think is so bad but at home no lmao

I understand it is bad for you and parents should probably take a larger control in their child's diet. Although, law shouldn't become involved unless the child is in danger.

No, If the parent knows how to control the kid on how much they are eating of it then there is no problem

No, they just need to continue pushing sports in school.

I really do not think that the law should decide on this, this is more of a thing for parents to have control.
