Have you ever been any of these? ;)
---
I haven't been any of them. Although, next year I think I will apply for head boy. The head of prefects is my English teacher so I think I have an advantage there! And it's lucky because I'm decent in English so she won't think I'm a total idiot!
---
btw can someone answer my questions
- what questions do you think will be in a head boy/girl interview
- any tips for interview
- how much work is it (i know this can vary by school)

Tbh I can't really remember it completely, the interview that is, but what I do remember being asked was how I'd be able to 'manage the role around my coursework/homework' and I didn't mention what they were looking for which was to say you'd work in a team so you'd all take a share of the duties required by all of the prefect team. As for how much work it is, at my school everyone had one slot per week e.g. x corridor Monday break time and that was it, but no one really stuck to the rotor tbh :P. Hope that helps!

At my school the badge and tie was the only difference between senior n normal. I went for senior prefect but didn't get it lol; in my defence, the 3 senior prefects chosen for my class (there was 3 per class) were 2 who didn't make head boy and 1 other :P.
But all prefects got to wear black jumpers, whereas no one else in the school was allowed to.

i was head boy when i was in primary school with my best mate who was head girl.
now in 6th form i'm only a maths prefect now though, the senior prefect team here is just a whole popularity contest so head boy/girl and vice captains just get voted in by everyone really.
I was a prefect in high school and we basically had to make sure people werent loitering corridors during break times and offer counsel to younger students through some mentoring programme
we didnt have interviews in my school we just had to apply and then go to the training course
i applied and didnt go to the training but they let me be one anyway

Tbh, when I was old enough to be a prefect at my past school, I wasn't particularly friendly with any of the teachers so I just never went for it. I found out after the interviews and what not that everyone who wanted to be a prefect got to be one (like 60 people). So they ended up having about 5 people on every door and at least 4 people patrolling the corridors. As for head boy and girl, head boy deserved it, he was hard working and easy to get along with. Head girl was just someone who all the teachers liked and did more or less nothing. But all in all, from my experience prefects have no more responsibility or power than any other student other than they have a badge and are expected to do more.

We had Head Boy, Head girl, deputies of both and I'm pretty sure it was Treasurer, School captain OR Prefect. I'm sure it was one of those. Our heads didn't do much, they opened the prom with the first dance which the Head Boy wasn't going to attend anyways, luckily he did. We couldn't apply it was just people who thought would be good. They only went for those in tops sets mainly apart from the Head Girl.
Hayden; I was a Peer Mentor, we applied on a small sheet and I gave good answers apparently. We basically provided a lunch club for year 7s, and made sure they weren't misbehaving.

No. At my secondary school you couldn't apply, you were offered the job if your teachers deemed you "worthy". You couldn't apply for Head Boy/Girl because you had to be in sixth form for that.

we didn't have them at school or anything similar
I wasn't one but ours wern't voted on and you couldn't apply. The teachers picked and they were basically all people who either played rugby/hockey. They just had to go to event evenings and welcome people, duties like the tuckshop etc. They didn't have to do patrolling the corridors or anything like that since my school is quite small and people were mature anyway. They got to skip the queue at lunch time, was so annoying :(

We didn't have any of these. Our school (GCSE and A-Level students) was split into 6 houses. Each house had 4 House Ambassadors (2 from KS4 and 2 from KS5). I was a House Ambassador in my A-Level years.

Wouldn't that be the same as a prefect / council person?

Hallelujah, finally someone else that didn't have anything similar.
We never had prefects or head boys or girls or anything. When we went up to sixth form, our school finally introduced houses and we had 'house ambassadors', but I couldn't tell you a single thing they did other than they had a title.

Prefects can tell people off or something? Our house ambassadors just went to meetings to organise 'challenge' days (So stuff like sports day, talent day) where houses won house points. They didn't really have anything to do with students as far as I knew, and I'm not entirely sure how much they had to do with the challenge days.

Maybe Harry Potter has warped my mind of what prefects actually do then.
What do prefects sort out?

There was 5 classes of 25-30 people :P. 1 head boy, 3 senior prefects per class, then however many prefects/assistant prefects. The majority of the team did nothing after the first week or two, including the head boy!

I haven't. I don't think our area has anything like this.
This also reminds me of Harry Potter for some reason ;)
