I'm doing my driving theory test on Monday, so *fingers crossed* once I pass I'll be moving onto the practical.
Anyone here who's done all this, did you go with an independent/more private instructor or a bigger company like AA/BSM? Which do you think would be better? Obviously everyone's from different places so different companies etc, but it would be good to know people's experience of who they learnt with :-)

ummm went with AA 1st but that was quite a bit more expensive i think
then went with 2 private instructors. i found private was better cos i soon realised my 1st instructor was legit awful. that mightve just been that 1 instructor tho who knows.

just depends on cost i guess and how much money u have to spend on it/wat u can afford. find out from ppl in ur area who they learned with and how gd their experience was.

I was first off gonna go with Aviva but it turned out I was gonna be paying a few hundred more, whereas I'm paying much less with a private person and I quite like it.

i went private with my driving lessons. but my college offer a discount with the AA i think so check that out if you are in college and see if they do a deal.

good luck!!

I prefer private than paying ridiculous money to a big driving school

I didn't do a drivers ed school. I went to the insurance company and the said it wouldn't have mattered.

I went with an independent ... he was very good. Passed first time with barely any lessons.

I went to both and I think both had their advantages and disadvantages. I would probably prefer the independent.

you need a provisional license to drive a car. unless you do it off road with people. but yeah a provisional is needed.
