Who here has gone loopy and talks to their pets? I love talking to my dog. Generally I'll just ask questions but sometimes I'll make statements to her, an bit like "what are you doing?" Or "come on, get off the bed. No we're not playing now I need to sleep."

Yes, I'm bonkers.

Talking to the cats is fun too. Or even imitating them when you pick the food bowl up and meow back to them.

I always talk to my animals as if they were humans and when they make a face I'd comment on it like, "Really, is that how you feel?"

Always chat away to my dogs, they love it so much and get so excited!!! I also like to ask them things with keywords they know, for example din dins and wee wees, my lab will begin to perk her ears up and that's when you know if she's hungry or needs to use toilet. I love when they're being fussy and barking or acting strange so I always ask them what's wrong and the lab normally just sits on floor, rocks back and forth then barks :P my Pom just wiggles around in circles and wags her tail.

Yes, I'm bonkers.

I've talked to my cat since 2005.

And I know people that not only talk to their pets, but pretend to be talking as them :O! (Pretty weird. lol)

I talk to my dog all the time. She's one of the only people I can talk to who's never gonna judge me if I've made a poor decision or argue with me if she thinks I'm wrong so it's good to talk to her about whatever I like

Doesn't everyone? I think it would be really strange not to talk to your dog.. even if I didn't talk to mine affectionately the way I do I would still speak to it when I call it for dinner or going out for a walk etc.

Cerys

Yeah all the time
When I still had Paddy I used to have proper conversations with him and tell him all my worries and it just helped me so much with coping with life and stooof but without him it's so hard argh

Now with my cats I don't really have conversations with them like that, I just kinda insult them by calling them fat...ly guys

we always try to figure out what type of voices our animals would have if they could speak and try to give them the accents from where they're from :P

Nah, that's not talking, i mean proper talks like asking it questions and stuff.

I like to ask mine "what's your problem?" or "do you want to fight?" or "you going me? I'll take you down." then she runs around in a circle for a bit and runs up to me and skids, runs back and repeats.

I talk to my girlfriend's pets all the time. I don't have any pets myself.

I think it's because you get a reaction from the dogs.. otherwise I wouldn't bother. They certainly know what 'walk' and 'dinner' mean................ lol

This was me today with my Dog.
I took him out to do his business and he was just barking, and barking, and barking. So I kind of looked at him funny, he turned to me with eyes of, "What?" and then I asked him what he was parking at. haha!

yes, but they understand a lot of it.

Say if I say the general, paw, roll over etc, they'll do it, or if I say wanna go for a walk? / CATS!! and they go mad / or just general stuff like get off the bed etc

I always figure, that Lucy (my labradoodle, blonde) would talk like one of them dogs on some movies where, high pitch etc
but my other dog, bella (cockapoo) I imagine would be like a "oh boy oh boy a ball!!!" as she's hyper as ****

Sometimes I do have conversations with my dog. Other times it's just full-fledged baby talk. My boyfriend just outright takes the mick out of his cat, though. xD

well they don't really understand me cos they're dogs but sometimes when I want a chat and other people are around it's embarrassing to just strike up a convo with something that clearly aint gnna answer back so I just play the conversation out in my head an imagine what they are saying from the way they look at me. I do the same with shockwave in the helpdesk sometimes.

Yess like when I get home from school I will turn around to my cats and say Hellooo did you miss me?
Sounds strange but my mum talks to them more than I do
My mum will say like 'Whos a pretty girl' to my kittens :P
and ask my dog like 'Are you cold?'

Probably sounds a bit strange but they actually like react to you and act as if they can understand you!!

I'M NOT WEIRD I PROMISE

All the time. :P Mostly only when I take my dog outside though, because when I say 'go toiley!' he actually does.
And when he begs to me, I ask him what he wants and he barks as if he's talking back. It's cute. ^_^
