Do you use your full legal name normally? like someone people only have a first and last name but some have loads. :P
I don't, I only use my first and half of my last name lmfao. The only time I use my full name is on passport... my school doesn't have my name or anything like that!

No! I'm really a Charlotte but that sounds so hideously posh I went for Charlie instead. I was told Charlie was a boys' name and I was supposed to be a Charley so I firmly stuck with Charlie in a moment of three year old rebellion.

I have a first middle and last name
You'll only really find my middle name on my passport/birth certificate/driving license as i dont tend to write my middle name down unless it's legal stuff
Yes I always have and always will. People don't understand why I don't shorten my name but its my name so why should I.
I only go by Shar on here.
yeah i have first middle and last name too but i've never really used it until college because i was filling out a form and they asked for my middle name but i was like the only one to put it and now on class registers and my student id it has my middle name uhhh
and um all my family call me cammy whereas all my friends (except a couple) and everyone else call me cameron

Zelda
23-03-2014, 11:24 AM
i have two middle names but i absolutely hate both of them so i always ignore their existance other than when it's actually required (like passport) until i actually get around to legally removing them
i also don't often go by my first name properly, most of the time either shortening it to tom when i'm writing it down or just leaving out my accent and stuff, cause i very much despise my first name in it's entire form too.

I never use my middle name, will hardly ever write it down either unless it's needed, seriously hate it. I do go by my normal first name though, pretty much everyone calls me it, although it's starting to catch on to call me "lau / law".
My pseudonym (which I use for a few other communities / writing) isn't my real name obv, but I'd also reply to that as well so yeahh

Your school nore than likely have your proper name on their official documents.
On forms I will use my first, middle and last name. Things that just need a name will have just my first and last. Everything Uni related has my middle name because of UCAS :P

Nobody in our school had their middle names on the register, but the school still knew them, and there were a few cases where people had their shortened names on the register as well, so the register doesn't really tell you much.

Wanna change my last name to my mums maiden name though

Passport, drivers licence, everything official has first, middle and surname.
At school middle names were on the register but the teacher never read them. Except for that one kid who would always insist their middle name was part of their first name and that they should be called Amy-Louise and not just Amy.
When we applied for uni, UCAS said to put your full name, so at our school we assumed that included middle names so everyone put their middle names. When you get to uni you realise then very few people did that so you are the only moron who has their middle name put on EVERYTHING!
I generally now just put my first and last name... Although I have my middle name on Facebook since they made an option for that rather than people putting their first and middle name in the 'first name' box.

And I wonder how many people will get their name changed when they realise the cost and hassle involved :PI'm not sure if I understand your or not, but getting my name changed was relatively easy! All you do is write out a declaration (you can just copy and paste) just pop your name in and goto a solicitor. Doesn't take very much effort tbh :P

And then you have to notify everyone and everything about your name change was the point I was trying to make :P I've also had my name changed, but I was about 6 or so, so my mum handled it all :P

I never had to tell anyone because I already used that name :) (point of the name change was to just make it official!!) But I literally never bothered changing official documentation until it expired :P got my new driving license other day in my current name tho, so pretty proud :D
I had my name change legally when I was 16. I had a different first middle and last name
But I didn't like it and I've reverted back to my birth name but all my documents are in my legal name. If that makes sense.
Yeah, I do.

but obv people call me Ell or whatever too

Surely not changing the documentation would cause an issue though? Let's say you got pulled over by the police in your car - your drivers license would have someone elses name on it? :P

My name on my birth certificate is Amelia but everyone has always called me Amy and I've always called myself that, which is really weird because I actually like the name Amelia. Pretty much nobody knows my real name unless they see my passport or something :P
My passport states me First, Middle and Surname. I used first and surname.

Yeah on all my things I go by my full name

don't have a middle name, used to be so jelly of people who did, sounds kl
i introduce myself as jennifer but everyone else decides it's jen & was always that in class registers because everyone else was a jenny/jennie or jennifer so people started calling me jen. kinda hard to get away from that lol
i do go by my first and last name on documents tho
I dont go by my legal surname, infact the only people who know my real surname are my employers. To everyone i meet i refer to myself as a different last name. Comes down to a disagreeing with my family about 6 years back.

I use my full legal name as my dad has the same name and doesn't use our middle name, so that way I can differentiate from him.
Weirdly I'm the second born son. My ******ed parents picked the second born, gay son to carry on the family name... ******* fools.

Only use my middle name for legal stuff.
People call me Nath occasionally, but most of the time I confuse it with someone else's name or mate. Doesn't exactly get my attention.

I do, I have a middle name but people never call me by that. I get called J, JJ and sometimes Jim though. Please never call me Jim though.

I use my real name, I love my name; I think it's not so common, but not so unique either. My middle name is Louise, but that's only on Facebook.
I get called Samantha and Sam mostly, Sammy by a couple of people (which I don't really like, but I just get used to it).
A lot of my family just call me "Samanth", most of my family apart from my sister call me that, and then my supervisor at work called me it and it stuck there too. So a few people call me it there as well.
Then my other nickname, which I don't hear much anymore is Spam.
