It is sad that so many young men are forced to suffer, due to old men dreaming up wars.

Read the following links about the story of just two men

As Somers highlights in his note, 22 military veterans commit suicide every single day. Amongst active-duty soldiers, more than one a day commit suicide, a figure that surpassed the number of US troops killed in combat in Afghanistan. - See more at: http://asheepnomore.net/2013/12/22/iraq-vet-kills-ordered-commit-war-crimes/#sthash.bO6rPRC7.dpuf

So what do you suggest?

Peace on earth.

Military Action is never justified, unless it is in self defense.

Canada used to be called the "PeaceKeepers" of the world. We've now seen in recent light, we are heading towards Americas ways.

So what do we do about the people that kill themselves after taking part in self defence for their country?

They need the correct physiological and mental help, yet as stated in the article;

Then, I pursued replacing destruction with creation. For a time this provided a distraction, but it could not last. The fact is that any kind of ordinary life is an insult to those who died at my hand. How can I possibly go around like everyone else while the widows and orphans I created continue to struggle? If they could see me sitting here in suburbia, in my comfortable home working on some music project they would be outraged, and rightfully so.

It would be a difficult job. What we need to do is not go to war for someones personal agenda.
Don't break the man.

I would agree with you on the concept of not attacking another country unless in self defence. The only just war to my mind that Britain has taken part in since World War II (which itself is disputable) is the Falklands War. All that said, i'm still very pro-military. I believe in strong armed forces.
