I thought we'd agreed in past feedback threads that the listener count of HxL has improved a lot recently.
Eugh, habboxlive's panel is the ugliest by far though :(
tbh listeners have been good for hxl recently
got to 65 in one of my slots the other day and james even got 40 something at 11am :P last night they were at 45 too at 11ish i think or 9pm or 10pm or something so that was good too
yeh it just depends on the day like charlie said

i'm really impressed with hxl listeners and it's always one of the highest out of all the fansites
Inseriousity.

Jas working for another fansite when he was fired from here for intimidating younger DJs into sexual acts? That's worrying.
Staff-wise, HxL are probably the strongest department and currently bucking the trend of hemorrhaging staff while not being able to replace them but those listeners were the number of listeners we were at while I was AGM (holding stable around 30 during peak time) so there hasn't been much improvement there. I believe very strongly that HxL can be a very valuable asset at Habbox and I hope to see some innovative ideas from it in the future. :)

The other fansite probably wouldn't know the reason why he got fired from Habbox for. Although I believe Jade works at the same place so you would have thought she would pass on the message!

that's prob why he's there because in that habbox event when jade was in the room and jas was there too, jas was saying how they should meet again and catch up but jade didn't seem to have a problem or anything with him

why does it depend on the time of day.
surely if one site is getting 51 listeners at the same time we're getting 29 then they are doing something we're not. I know 29 isnt bad for us these days though

Obviously listeners depend on the time of the day. At one point we could be 10 and the others have 30 for example - I am not saying HabboxLive isn't doing any good.

Oh my!! jas!!
OT: What time of the day were these taken? As gina said the listener count has really improved and you never know what could have been going on at that time unless you tuned in for the whole hour, They could have been hosting a competition etc and obviously popularity has a big outcome to it.
I've realized that Habbox is mainly UK oriented. So most listeners and users are from the UK & area. Other sites can be probably more international based. I've seen our listeners get around 50-55 before, so it is possible. Just timing. Also, from what I heard (from people who listen in) is that they'll only tune into certain DJs.
As everyone has said, it does depend on the time. Also might need to take into account that most of these fansites don't remove clone radios, so if a big event is going on people will load 7 or 8 different pages to boost the listeners (staff do this as well)
Habbox always has a listener issue in AEST times, it does need looking at!
oh also when there are events on its a lot easier to make people to tune into the radio as loads of new people go into the events and so by advertising in the event room you could prob get loads more listeners
they've had a full day of events - we've had 5 :P

totally agree, doesnt help that we have hardly any on client advertisement apart from hxhd

They are Kardan and it's sad. :(
Anyway - why don't you post all the sites radio stats? Or is it just me who can't see them?

Are the images in the first post not showing up for you :P?
Anyway, the reason why it depends on the time despite looking at all fansites at that same time, is because different fansites will have their main userbase in different timezones which will mean different numbers of listeners at different times, where the differences may occur at different times in comparison to other fansites. I think what'd be better is looking at each of those fansites every hour for a whole day - which would take a few people to get involved :P then some graphs from that would be interesting and somewhat useful :).

Regarding about Jas, I won't be talking bad about his even if he has a bad past at Habbox. He was always my friend and always will be. Although it doesn't mean he is like that at the other fansite. I think he should be given a chance there, maybe you guys don't want to give him a chance but Jade did I suppose.

Looking through this thread I don't see anyone speaking badly about him? :S

Also, There has actually been a big increase in listeners considering we used to hit 20 listeners per show but now we're hitting 40+ which is a big increase. We have a lot of events planned and this will definitely make a difference in the listener peak.
We also have a big event planned with Events that will be coming very soon so watch this space :D.

If that were the case wouldn't numbers be dropping and rising madly all the time? While people tune in to hear what song is being played and then tune out if they don't like it. And I'm pretty sure this isn't the case? If I tune in for an hour numbers usually either stay the same, drop a few, or steadily rise. They don't jump about all over the place. And anyway, I don't tune out if a song I don't like is being played, I just turn the radio down and wait for a new song.
I don't think it depends on the music, I think it depends on the audience. Some days, Still Into You (or whatever) might be played and the DJ loses three listeners for it. Other days they might gain six. It just depends on the taste of the people who are currently online, I think.

Completely agree. I personally think the DJing has really improved and the DJs are becoming more confident on the radio and I feel the listeners are picking up on that which was what we've been working really hard on as a department.
Just to add too; I will be working more closely with international DJs to start getting more events planned during intl times too which will really increase listeners during intl times also :).

Well the first paragraph is clearly true too?
If people were tuning in and out depending on the song that was being played, habboxlive would never have a steady number of listeners, when reality shows that they almost always do.
In terms of music, I was tuned in yesterday and a DJ was playing maybe 4 or 5 REALLY BAD quality songs and I mean under 64kbs bitrate. That made me tune out instantly
I think DJ's need to be told that if they're going to download music at least check the bitrate is over 128kbs before downloading it

Oh yeah that's definitely true but I was talking about the actual song rather than the quality of the song.
I would assume DJs are already getting warned/reminded if they're repeatedly playing bad quality songs?

They get told ye, really they should be instructed on what quality a song should be not just DONT PLAY BAD SONGS EVER AGAIN

I personally think that HabboxLive has improved a lot towards song titles and swearing issues. I don't know as I am not a Head DJ anymore but when I was Head DJ there was a lot of issues regarding these but the djs are starting to realize they have to fix these to avoid future warnings or removals.
How much research has been put into this? Like finding out the best times for high listener count, what music they stick around for, ways to interest them in listening and joining the forum, making sure people take requests and if they don't have it - get it for next time? I dunno. I remember joining up here after being at a giveaway and being told to tune in and I actually did and stuck around.
Also, why is there a separate area for the radio.. I know it's on the main site but why does it also have it's own page?
On a different note, I've always wanted to dj but I don't know if I could maintain a certain hour slot or tell my family not to burst in for an hour.. They don't think I use habbo anymore so I wouldn't be able to tell them why. :P
