Habbo text often cuts of at the end of words at times on my Retina Macbook,
I wish MODs were more involved like this. I've only had a couple interactions with some MODs.

Many forum members have said in the past that they're not allowed to speak, but I can't say whether that's correct or not :P.

I think that was the case up until recently. About a month ago there was a thread posted on here and a puhekupla article saying that they're now allowed to speak, it seems to be the case as there's been quite a few screen shots of them talking since then.
Think they were told they weren't allowed to speak with this whole c4 thing - they were moderators and that's it. They weren't there to interact, but I think this has been more relaxed now since time has passed and they realise its actually quite cool for some users to talk to a mod.
Bikini; please stop typing mod in all caps :(

Aw man. But I like to. :P
To add something on topic;
I thought that Mods could talk to others. It is surprising that habbo would make a regulation about what they can and can't do.

They shouldn't get involved. They are meant to make impartial decisions. If they made conversation with users they might develop preferences and help certain users out more than others.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. Then maybe limiting what they can do with interactions? like make regulations on what is "too far" for conversations..

i think a lot of the time people forget that these people are paid by the hour for a service, they aren't hired to entertain other habbos (unlike community staff), sure we do see developers coming on the habbo to chat, but the moderation is outsourced so the company that provide the service will want to follow procedure. doesn't help that moderation is one of the biggest problems habbo faces, and by the time you have a lovely conversation about how their day is they could have been solving another case.

mods used to chat to habbos on their break, or just after their shift had ended. they dont do that anymore... sad times.

Did he have a staff badge?
I wonder because in 2007 (if I remember correctly) you could create MOD- accounts. I still have mine under my user although it was perm banned (until 2020) by 0rca when she visited the Habbox Help Desk. It would still be unbanned now if I hadn't been so stupid.

I think it's nice to see a mod interacting with the community, only if they're on their break, however.

it would have been banned anyway. they searched for all mod- accounts and banned them, even if they hadn't logged on.

When did they do this? I know I had that account for a few years after.
It must have been banned in 2011?

An on/off duty effect would be nice but I'd rather mods focus on solving reports. Before they were outsourced, most worked from their home. The environment in which they worked was very similar to the players they were helping. I think this made their connection to the game stronger, they understood what its like to play Habbo. They also probably weren't recruited at a job fair. I'm not trying to put today's mods down but it is really sad when a mod can't kick a blocker. They just don't seem to get it. I guess training isn't covering all the bases

On the other hand, it's frustrating to see that mods still have to deal with reports about blockers after 14 years. Can't you develop a wired box that kicks/teleports someone if they're on a space for longer than x seconds? Room moderation settings that allows owners to give someone just the right to kick people? |-) I feel for staff these days, Habbo is just a big breeding ground for trolls. Maybe if Sulake made some changes they could increase user acquisition and create a growing community. Opposed to this steady decline they've been on for the past two years.

Ive noticed a few mods speak, its pretty cool but they don't stay in your room for long:(
Mods used to talk all the time, it's a shame that they rarely talk now tbh
