Double post in post boosting threads

I reported a post for double posting in the 'What are you watching' thread, because double posting anywhere other than places where you get post count = against the rules (unless you're adding important info, yada yada)

The reply to the report was 'I think this is allowed', so is that true?

As far as I am concerned, you can't double post anywhere unless you are adding more information or the edit button has gone.

I guess it's ok if you've changed what you're watching or whatever and post again, but obviously if it gets silly id just merge the posts and edit.

They can, but if a moderator feels they are abusing the thread for post count then it is normally dealt with.

If you can double post in threads like 'what are you watching' then you should sure as hell be able to double post in any thread.

Having these post boost threads in the first place is bad enough, but allowing the other rules to be bent around them and not in proper threads is silly.

You can double post in any thread so long as it's adding something to the thread. Anything within 15 minutes is automatically merged though.

And it's been regularly stated by the people that post in those threads themselves :P

So I think the only people to believe that post boosting doesn't happen is management :P

I believe it's post boosting lol. This thread has been put on my "To Do" list and I'll talk to moderators about a rule regarding posting in it over the next week or so :)
