This doesn't help at all, and also, I don't know what music my friends specifically like either.

I suggest getting a program like juxeboxer, you put all your music through it and people can queue songs up and you can set a playlist for when no songs are queued up. Helps if you've got lots of different types of music because then it's catering for everyone's music taste! :)

I've ran music for a few parties and I always ALWAYS use Spotify.
Load up a playlist like Topsify with the newer songs and add a couple of classics in, then you can search for an add requests on the fly (providing you have an internet connection).
Someone is probably now going to shout at me about licensing issues now :(
