James Franco 'hits on schoolgirl, 17, on Instagram and in series of texts'

James Franco has found himself in hot water after allegedly trying to meet up with an underage girl he was chatting to on Instagram.

Lucy Clode, who is 17 and hails from Dollar in Scotland, has shared messages that she claims are from the actor, in which he appears to try and arrange to meet her in her hotel.

The schoolgirl was in New York and went to watch the star on Broadway in Of Mice And Men, where she waited outside the theatre to meet her idol and promptly shared a selfie in which he appears in the background on Instagram.

The age of consent varies from state to state. However in New York the age of consent is 17, so she was legal.

So I don't really see what the deal is since she isn't a minor (age wise that is), I do however find it very creepy that he did this out of the blue.

i think the deal is that he doesn't really know her and has made plans to meet in a hotel room

The first photo he posted as proof could have easily been found online and the second one where he verifies it's him by holding a sign with her name on it is too dark to tell if it's actually him or not. Could quite easily be a fake as i'm sure someone like james franco doesn't struggle to pull supermodels, I doubt he'd be chasing some jailbait he doesn't know over twitter.

If I were 17 and James Franco wanted me to go to a hotel room with him I wouldn't hesitate to say yes. Preeeeetty sure she had a video with him outside of the theater, meaning they did actually meet up. Which is apparently now removed from the internet, legit cannot find this video. Things don't get off the internet that easily, especially not something as juicy as this. rofl I still think it's all a stunt. People are so gullible :D & no, if James Franco wanted me to go to a hotel with him I'd be down, we could stay up all night talking about art.
