So I was actually wondering why my client doesn't work when I use my university's internet. It loads quickly until like 87% and then just crashes..

They're probably blocking some ports the client uses.

You could try using some kind of VPN.

Well if your laptop is full of viruses already then it's probably a good idea to sort that out before sorting your Habbo problem :P
I had a similar problem for other websites and found that syncing my windows clock and switching to a public dns pretty much eradicated the problem. I have very little actual technical knowledge and just went on instruction from those that know their stuff though, so I couldn't tell you exactly what those two things do.
Here are the instructions for switching DNS
Windows 8
Hit the Windows Key
Type "Control Panel"
Select "Network and Internet"
Select "Network and Sharing Center"
Select "Change Adapter Settings" on the navigation bar on the left
Right click on your network adapter and select "Properties"
Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and open "Properties"
Go to the bottom of the menu and change ‘Obtain DNS server address automatically,’ to ‘Use the following DNS server addresses:’
Put in the following public DNS servers, one in each empty field:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Save your changes by selecting “Ok”
Close all open web browsers and applications
Hit the Windows Key
Right click anywhere
Click on "All Apps"
Right click "Command Prompt" and run as administrator
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Restart your computer

Switching your DNS may break some of your uni websites on your laptop though, so be careful.
Also I don't see why switching DNS would help in this case.

Haha, there is nothing else to be done with it.. I'm just waiting for it to completely die so I can ask my parents for a new one..

Okay so since you're the IT guy of the place, I'd rather trust you. S: Any particular VPN?

I wish it was that easy..
