View Full Version : What is the point in hxhd when...
MKR&*42

Seriously, what the hell is the point when semi-abusive kinda **** goes on the daily (not necessarily to me, but in general) and no-one seems to care. I remember when a few members got banned from hxhd last year or so and it was the best thing that happened (why were they unbanned lol.......), right now there's a toxic atmosphere almost every day and it creates the crappiest impression on Habbo and yes I know i'm never 100percent innocent but i don't come in and take the piss out of the same people on the daily. There's always fights or people getting genuinely abused constantly and if I was a newbie and walked into hxhd today id turn around and walk right back out.
Not to mention the fact staff seem to be lacking in response when there is a load of ''rule breaking'' stuff going on in the room but hey.
I know habbox isnt the nicest place in the world, but you know it's the same members over and over again, so why do you let them come in and why is there not a stricter warning system for them in particular? lol.
--
And ye i have PMed the manager before anyone tries flaring me up for that.
nd p.s. dont say 'jus put them on ignore' becuz there r these things called clones.
Lewis

I completely agree. It's always the same few members causing problems and nothing seems to be done about it. It's not as if the people that need to know don't know about!

Too much is made of the help desk. Is it actually used as a help desk these days? Last time I was on (in 2009?) it was just a meeting place with a load of people asleep behind a bar or just chatting about any old rubbish. I still don't see why it can't just become a lounge, since that's all it really is these days.
help desk staff don't actually help anymore. they think that if they are in the room and not behind the desk that they aren't obliged to do so. all help desk staff should have hxhd in motto so people know who they are othrewise lets add a football gate to the staff area to make them all wear a uniform.
adding a stricter warning system for known offenders is not fair but I do think that warning systems must be applied properly to everyone.
xxMATTGxx
19-04-2014, 07:28 PM
No idea what's been happening recently towards yourself but we can easily ban people from the room if they are continuing to cause trouble towards you and others. Regarding the whole "lounge" business - You can class the Help Desk whatever you want but we will always keep the name "Habbox Help Desk" for tradition.

I didn't always mean me :P, but I would hope a lot of people who do get 'picked on' by the same people would speak up too. I don't go in there much anymore because everytime i go there it's always a negative atmosphere. But thank you for your response matt =]
hm i don't really notice anything but maybe thats because i've learnt to ignore them

Motto thing is actually a rule (so must of us have it in the motto all the time). As far as I know, when there is incident we do usually apply the warning system fairly and correctly, there is a problem I find with that is sometimes other staff members can slightly muck things up (by accident) when they've just entered the room/been on brb.
Could it be done better? Yes yes. Now you've brought this up, it may be prudent for Empired; zebbadi; and Cassiieee; to do a session on habbo to train all of us how to deal with rule-breakers. I'm guessing as we've had such an influx of new comers recently (including me) so we aren't as confident or aren't necessarily as willing (admittedly I hate trying to deal with the trolls, honestly I'd just like to get them room banned straight away).
We have discussed about certain rule-breakers (I won't say anymore then that) but hopefully with you guys speaking up about this as well, it will help in decision making etc.

What have I missed :O hxhd is in general quite boring normally
Rachel
19-04-2014, 07:53 PM
There will always be trolls and people picking on others, you almost see that daily. Senior Management and HxHD department can't be on 24/7 to monitor everything being said or done. Although we do our best of our capabilities to maintain the room stabilized as much as possible when we are on duty or in the room itself. I do agree that the picking on is getting out of hand and should be dealt with the Senior Management. I do thank for your concern about this Hayden and I am hoping something will be done regarding this soon enough.
Hayden; who is bullying
why do people always talk about "certain few users" and never actually give their names

the banter is the only thing that makes the help desk worth going to
LiquidLuck.
19-04-2014, 08:05 PM
There is a fine line between banter and bullying though. What some people find amusing, others find offensive, and if you don't know how the person in question is going to take it, might as well not do it.
This has always been a problem within the HxHD, that I myself have experienced. The only thing there is to do is warn once, warn twice, then kick and then if they come back and restart ban as I believe that is still the way to deal with rule breakers. If they complain, remember to take screenies of the reason why you warned and kicked them.
If you are HxHD staff and think it's too much for you to handle as you've tried and didn't manage, don't just ignore it. Ask a fellow staff to help and if it gets out of proportion take screenies and ask the management what they think you should do about it.

I don't want to say the users I'm not that petty but cameron has pretty much mentioned some of them :P @kyle
Staff don't do anything... They don't answer questions, they don't moderate the room and they especially don't engage with the community.

i dont get why you state that you are not that pathetic or w.e to name names but then go ahead and point to someone else who has named names and bring up a private problem in a public thread in the first place. how exactly are we as a community expected to deal with a thread like this apart from airing our own grievances about specific users by being as indirect as possible?
bullying is not a huge problem. the ignore tool IS useful. it DOES work. clones? ignore them too. persistant? ban them using the proper warning system.
Sianness; Empired;
goldenrainbowxo, americanozz, iabby,. and xxzammyxx don't have hxhd in their motto. others may well have but I don't see many respond to users asking for help when they are in the room and not behind the desk. Crazylemurs was guilty of this in the past and was called out on it and sorted it out.

At least she's behind the desk and engaging in conversation with users rather than the usual staff only talking to their cliques!
HxHD staff generally aren't as active, chatty or passionate/enthusiastic like we used to be.
After Easter I would change the room design to the retro newsbox style with a small desk and hire more friendly staff like tay. It might encourage more chit-chat and a nicer atmosphere.

I removed my motto on habbo for a reason but i got everything fixed so it is back now. Although for the motto, it is pretty obvious if they are HxHD staff if they are behind the desk... as only the HxHD department and general management can go behind the desk. Not having a motto is not a thing to Hey you will have to put your motto or you're fired...if the staff doesn't put the motto as it should be and continues then it will be a different story.

it's not easy to tell when the room is full and nobody is behind the desk. staff should still feel obliged to help users if they are not 'on duty' (:|) if a user comes in and asks, rather than staring blanky or chatting with their buddies.

Did you remove it whilst you work for the other fansite?
Anyway, department managers can go behind the desk too, so really it is important to have it in regardless of if you're seen behind the desk or not. Also, it has been a problem and not just for you Hayden - I'm really not sure why it's still happening as I brought it up with Empired; that the warning system needs to be followed and she informed all staff of this.

Yes but I only been at the other fansite for a few hours anyways.
I would never go at hxhd without my motto. Even if I am not on duty.
Looks like Tay is soon to be HxHD manager.
I agree to a certain extent that the people who are rule breaking don't get warned enough and then they carry on. But as soon as a little petty argument unfolds where no rude words have been exchanged (yet) you'll get a warning for causing arguments? I think staff need to be harsher on repeat rule breakers as it's just annoying to go in there and see the same people fueling on arguments and staff just sitting there and leaving once they've reached their 5 hour minimum.

Hey, H. I can assure you I have not played Habbo for a number of years, ever since the death of my baby sister, and also losing my thrones to an unforeseen gambling problem I had, resulting in my parents being homeless for 3 or 4 months whilst my mother was 4 months pregnant. Oh my... A thread about the help desk, turns into another immature squabble my, my (Habbo-x From) [Inside joke] what are we gonna do?
Anyway... O/T:
Point in the Help Desk, is to cause the thing we love so much - gossip. No I'm kidding, the point in the Help Desk is it's a unique part of Habbox, mostly the only unique part (besides being the oldest fansite). If Habbox didn't have the help desk where would we get our gossip social gatherings???
Hold on... if these people (by people I mean those who argue and act annoying in general) are staff and from reading the other hxhd thread on this issue, seem to be never warned, then you have a problem. Staff behaviour should always be a priority, because a positive vibe there reflects well on the rest of Habbox. I see people naming staff members in the other thread, saying oh you keep doing it over and over again, then why are they still in the role?
I just brought this point up because I found it interesting of whether things have become extremely lenient or I may be wrong :P.

£150 per week per card, yes. My parents had 4 cards each so £600 a week x2. Plus the fact that they never used the cards so they didn't check the statements meant they incurred vast amounts of interest for never paying the minimum payments. Ended up with a total bill of around £34,000 by the time they found out. Had to declare bankruptcy and lost everything we own. Habbo ruins lives.

This. There's been a few times when I'm in there that people are being rude to someone and the staff do literally nothing.. I also agree with the community side too, most staff go in there to meet their minimums and never actually speak to any new users or even anyone thats in the room surely if HxHD is a community based department they should really be communicating with not only new users but existing users also..

Is this normal practice for a help desk?

Correct me if I'm wrong but do the mods not get told to post around the forum etc on top of their moderating duties? Surely this should apply to HxHD about engaging in and creating conversation within the room, on top of their 'helping' duties?
Perhaps it is time for adifferent form of tracking staff than hours behind the desk if they aren't actually helping people.

It looks as if HxHD staff aren't encouraged to do a lot nowadays. We all hated HotelUser back in the day as a manager but he got good results lol, if only this was adopted by the current manager/s.

That shouldn't be happening at all. If there's someone asking for help then you help them, it shouldn't deter them from the quiz that much either. In fact, it'd probably help the quiz (doing their normal/primary role of helping) as the questions will take longer and it might actually last a hour.
Staff shouldn't be saying mute her though, were they Help Desk Staff or something else?
