Latvia - WTF
Russia's song is called shine, pretty sure this is about the 3rd song called this in recent years at Eurovision.
Armenia and Azerbaijan were good.
Ukraine is also decent, and I imagine they will do well with the political situation.
Norway is good.
Poland I guess are going for Champions or bust.
Slovenia is good.
OMG ROMANIA! These guys entered a few years back for Romania and came 3rd, and their song absolutely kicked ass that year! Not as good this time around, but still half decent.
Bruno Mars will not win for Denmark.
France is good, although ever year I like France's entry they do awful. Maybe I just like the language.
I think the UK's entry is probably the best since Jade Ewen came 5th, so we might get a top 10 finish I reckon.

Ok i havent even gotten to semi finals 2 yet ive jus listened to 16 goddamn songs out of semi final 1;

Armenia - All over the place like itS TOO CONFUSING
Latvia - i have got no words..
Estonia - this actually okay, funky beat.
Sweden - This is great too, although she def has trouble with pitch near the start but it is a lovely song.
Iceland - im torn ok like the song is alright in some parts but the video is also weird as hell x]. Guess the song's theme is nice.
ALBANIA - MAJORLY DISAPPOINTED HERE. THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH RONA NISHLIU AGAIN CAUSE SHES AMAZING AND THIS IS JUST AWFUL IN CONTRAST, I AM VERY UPSET ALBANIA.
Russia - it's okay but i dont really think they can sing that well x]
Azerbaijan - This is really nice actually, as good as Sweden <3
ukraine - upbeat which is quite good, it's alright but not the besttt dont think itll win.
Belgium - Fantastic singer, the song isn't that great though, but i reckon itll get thru semi finals at least.
Moldova - hate everything about this
SAN MARINO - OMG ITS THE WOMAN WHO DID THE SOCIAL NETWORK SONG. Jesus this is a massive improvement, the songs decent but there are a lot better entries than this, BUT I THINK THEY MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF FINALS THIS YR.
PORTUGAL - WHERE HAS THIS SONG BEEEN FOR MY ENTIRE LIFEEE. This is really catchy and upbeat, dont think the singer is amazing but i love it still. Seems to be divided opinion based on youtube likes/dislikes.
Netherlands - do u know what i actually enjoy this which surprises me.
Montenegro - i listened to 20 sec and hate it with a passion.
Hungary - im actually i didnt like it at the start but as it got on ts AMAZING AND GROOVY WOO

Favourite for me out of semi finals 1 is Azerbaijan/Sweden.

competitors from asia and africa are more or less welcome to compete, so long as they join the EBU and can legitimately enter someone and pay for their maintenance and flights etc.
in the past, morocco once competed (1980) and every year since has had to tell everyone "no, we're not coming back this year, but we might soon" now for 24 years. just like some european countries (kosovo, liechtenstein) can't yet compete because they don't have a national broadcaster to enter into the EBU, or the logistics haven't been sorted yet. if scotland secedes (bye mark) they will need a new national broadcaster (coff stv), apply to the EBU and organise an entry before the year of their entry, so scotland will almost certainly not compete in eurovision the first year they become independent; not because of their location but because of their non-EBU-ness

also facts: libya, jordan, lebanon and algeria are all in the EBU and not in eurovision and not in europe. who competes is weird.
