Blind within the next 9 months

There's a teacher at my college who's been in and out of hospital for the past 6 months due to something to do with his eyes. Recently he had an operation and he started wearing sunglasses and a visor. He hasn't been in for the past few weeks and we were told last week that this was because the operation didn't work and that there's a 90% chance he'll be completely blind in both eyes within the next 9 months.

******* sucks man 'cause he's a really sick physics teacher and he was always really kind to everyone

The other thread got me thinking and I was just wondering

What would you do if you had 9 months of sight left before being completely blind?

god i have no ******* idea

i would probably try and see all the things i want to see and go all of the places i want to go before i went completely blind

also would attempt to spend as much time experiencing things with my family and watch my nephew grow up in the 9 months i have left

i would visit the most lovely beautiful places on earth and visit all the people i would want to see before i lose my sight

I hope you and your fellow class mates are going to do something for him if the worse does happen. If he is such a good teacher show him appreciation, because it will make the events that come about feel much less painful to him.

I wouldn't like to say what I would do. Given that he has to wear glasses and seems to have poor vision already I'd imagine there is very little you can do to enjoy the little eyesight you have. Probably explore beautiful areas.

That's actually depressing to hear that.
If I only had nine months before losing my sight, I don't think I would do anything. I know there's a lot of places I would love to see, and I think if I was at a stage of life where I had children, I'd probably go thru photographs, and such of my kids, and my wife. So that they can be stored in my memory.

What is cool though, and on the lighter side is that with the loss of one sense, it does heighten the others, so maybe with that, my hearing may improve and give me special abilities.
