Navigator updates

Hi! I've got some updates about the navigator.

I think he means that when you open the navigator and go to the privates rooms section the first thing you'll see is a list of categories, which is what I'm sure used to happen years back :P.

I want to be able to search for multiple word room names! It's really annoying when the navigator only shows up results for the first word you search so I hope this is changed

Reminds me of the one when you could pick an avatar to match your room in one of the old clients, which was pointless and ugly.

Really hope they don't take away ability to search by username or I won't be able to see my rooms lmao. I think I prefered the old search methods though before they added tag: and owner:

Macklebee; Can we please have it so ythat we can change the settings of our rooms (E.G. Locking them, deleting them etc) without actually entering the room?

We used to be able to just hover over one of the link things to our rooms and click an icon to change the room settings, but we haven't been able to for quite a long time now :(.

Remember guys, what you may see posted by fansites does not necessarily represent the final product. We haven't flipped the switch because it's not ready!

I've talked to a few guys about it in client but figure I might as well post a little about it now you guys are on to us.

The first phase of updates is focusing on improving the technology behind the navigator. We want to make categories more prominent, make categories more personal and improve search and ranking algorithms. During this time you might see or experience updates that effect the current navigator but please remember that these changes are being made so that we can prepare the use of the technology.

The 2nd phase of updates will focus on the user interface, and that is when we'll start making the new changes look pretty.

Don't pre-emptively jump the gun. We have good plans, trust us on this one. : )

Exactly... where are the times when (major) updates were done all at once instead of bits and pieces here and there, day by day... Feels sort of unnecessary and a bit too careful to me. Problems and bugs can surely be fixed after bigger updates too.

Oh well on the bright side they reduced maintenance breaks. But even so they're adding crap updates all the time and it's pretty annoying now.

It's been ages since the staff such as powertoo have actually LEFT US ALONE. The old days with no moderators around were better UGH.

I wonder how it'll actually be like when we try it out - better not be another crap update like the bottom navigator thing. And the "BIG H".

It'll also help people to adjust to the changes by giving them said changes bit by bit rather than a sudden overload of change :P.

I joined the group. I think its good how they added owner: and tag: functions to the search, as currently it isn't obvious to new players and they didn't publicise the change over to that very well. Can't see me ever using the recommended rooms or the categories tab. I would still prefer to click on rooms and select the category that way. Is there/what is the diff in what rooms come up when you do a search?
