I thought I'd post a thread about this because I'm not 100% sure what it actually is.. When I was a Content Designer I saw there was something about a Habbox hall of fame but never really understood the point of it or whether it is still actually going on? How many people are actually in it?
I think personally if you have a Habbox hall of fame you should make the people in it more well known around the community. Is there a page/thread or anything with a list of who's in it? Does it even still exist? I think there should be something where it has a list of who's actually in it with a bit of background about the person and why they are in it the hall of fame too. They should have more recognition perhaps if there's only a small amount of people in it then there's not much point of actually having one.
Just something I was thinking about.
It was around for a while but I think it was removed/hidden when Skynus done a clean up of the site.

It still exists as an active award, and it's on the main site via Habbox History > http://habbox.com/#!/HallOfFame
I looked on the site and then the Habbox Wiki page for it, and it says for some 'Former HoF members' which seems rather strange to me as I thought the award/honour was permanent unless in exceptional circumstances. Making it yearly(?) rather undermines it in my opinion.

The inductees as of 2014 are the following -
Mizki
Jrh2002
MissAlice
Joshuar

Former(?) HoF members
Properclone
Seacat
8Freak8

Since when did this change happen? Haven't seen it announced or explained.
I see no reason for 'former members' but I did always wonder why the honour never had a forum badge/award made for it.

There is no badge for people in the hall of fame? If so I personally think they should have one. People in the hall of fame have obviously done something good for Habbox so they should be known around the community.
I didn't even know that page even existed.
i should be in the habbox hall of fame

there shouldn't be a hall of fame. It causes more arguments than it's worth.

I don't see many arguments on it often at all. I approve of all the award rankings, from Habbox Merit and others.
I know myself that my HoF award is my proudest achievement on Habbox and it's a nice thank you over the 8 or so years.

well that's more because people have forgot it exists but I recall the huge thread that involved picking on certain people and saying why they weren't worthy of a place. Surely it's your achievements that got you onto the HoF rather than being included on it that you'd be proud of.

Yes, but it's nice to have recognition. It's a high ranking award for Habbox, but at the same time it is low key. A fine balance if you ask me.
Just as schools use stickers, or as the British/Canadian/Australian/New Zealand Governments use the Honours System.
but other people want stickers

I agree with Mike here. I'm almost sure it's caused arguments in the past because people don't agree that someone should be on the list. The same has also happened with the Habbox Merit award on the forum.
Sir comity seems fitting for me imo
change it to knighhoods

Back when I was content manager I believe either Samanfa or laura were working on updating the hall of fame, I think following a feedback thread it was ultimately determined not to be worth the hassle.

I was working on it when I was in Content, but the list was never definite so to speak as things happen over the years and some may not feel that X is worthy whereas they think Y is and so on.
I believe Headlines has added the former members of it, but I could be wrong so don't quote me on it! I remember coming across it not too long ago which I found a bit odd too mainly with some of the former ones I don't agree with. HotelUser deserves to be on the Hall Of Fame, and I think many would agree with that (hopefully), I can't comment on many of the others as I came after they had done their bit.
The reasons to be put on the Hall Of Fame aren't really known as I think so many different ones could be used.

This thread in feedback has come up more times than I can remember over the years. It definitely does create more hassle as people will always agree and disagree with the decisions you make to put people onto the list.
The list was updated and a lot of people taken off of the list about a month or so ago. The list was provisionally made and we were looking to add other people to the Hall of Fame, however with the change of management in the department other things became more of a priority and this was forgotten about.
The list isn't definitive just yet, but the step was made to make it more "exclusive", it was starting to look like another Habbox Merit group which we don't really want as really they're for two different things. I was also looking into maybe adding some community users into the Hall of Fame, as far as I am aware it has always been members of current or former staff that have been on the list. Also, the idea of a forum award etc sounds fantastic and shall be looked into.
If people want to put names forward or recommend that people are moved from the former to the main list then that's fine. We will then review the names and make a final conclusion as to whom will be on the Hall of Fame.
don't see the point in having one if there's the habbox merit scheme

Hall of Fame is for those who have done more than Habbox Merit requires. For instance a manager who has been in the job for 12 months will become a member of Habbox Merit, they most probably wouldn't have made significant contributions to be put on the Hall of Fame list.

there's hardly a massive difference though? if they've made significant contributions just give them the outstanding achievement award or whatever it's called, which i'm sure is used for the same reason? whats the point in having similar award systems when you could be working on something worthwhile and isn't similar to something already in place

seacat should be in it, as also Eckuii
Immenseman's in it, yet he took members details using modcp to hack them for habbo thrones... good joke
just because people do bad things doesn't detract from their overall contribution before and even after those incidents

Looks like [A]GMs plus Dan and Alice as far as I can tell, I thought the old HoF was just a list of ex managers

This was why we originally removed people from the list. As I said in my previous post, we would like to add community users into the HoF as well, so not just former general management. Again, we're looking for people who've made special contributions that have had a significant impact on Habbox, so HotelUser would be a contender to be put back into the HoF.

things like the HxOSA should be in HoF as well, or merit (I've always said this) because it literally is a list of ex managers at the moment. Like, think about Samantha.; who was senior for like 2 years and did consistently amazing work, but wouldn't have qualified!
As it is, it's redundant, I think it needs to be scrapped or seriously looked at. It's hard to find someone with enough Habbox knowledge to actually go through it all though.

init kyle, members have contributed a lot more to the community, managers are useless and last like a month or two typically.
They shouldn't be put on for their time in the position either, as even though some were in for say 8 months they were absolutely crap.

I actually agree I don't think it should be just staff/former staff who should be considered there are a lot of members I can think of that should be put forward for it too because of the fact they have put in their time into Habbox and been here for years.
Why was Im-men-seman banned?

My only question is how are you considered a Hall of Fame member? In WWE, if your inducted to the Hall of Fame it is because you made a major history moment. Mike is right, arguments would come up like;
"I should be in the Hall of Fame because I have been here since 05'"
"I have done a major amount of work, I should be inducted"
Thats just a few of lines that I would see being said.
