Yeh but this was around the time of the mass forum hacks, I was wondering if it was anything to do with that, and could it happen again?

plus if the person who hacked the forums got them from this guy, can he work on Habbox's?

Well considering none of us know what is actually within those folders, we can't say whether it is anything to do with that. And it can happen if another vulnerability is discovered. As long as you use different passwords for each site you use, and your email has two step verification, you'll be fine.

yeah I use different passwords and such.

and he was offering this:

"If you have an email you want me to search on the databases, just PM me with it and I will give you any hash+salt that goes with the email or any password I have cracked for that email."

the only sites I can think of that could possibly have had pws cracked are the likes of "cloudhabbo" or "snaphabbo"]

reckon we are probably safe

Once upon a time Habbox was actually 'hacked', but we're talking a good 4+ years ago. If I remember that correctly?

Aren't salted hashes very hard to obtain passwords from

So wait wait, lets get this straight... if you pm him, he'll give you the email address/username which is probably stored in plain text and the salted hash that represents his/her password? lRhyss;

Besides how many people use the same password on here as on Habbo? ... lol

Don't get me wrong there probably are some good hackers out there. Most of them will be a bunch of clueless kids though if I'm honest.

It depends on the complexity of the password I think...

and yeah, pretty much

If the password is a 3-4 letter word then yeh its not THAT hard. but its fairly pointless as things like lastpass are out now.
