Has anyone ever worked nights? If so, what's it like and did you get used to working throughout the night and sleeping through the day etc?
Any issues you had by doing that and anything else you think I should I know.

You get used to it providing you can get adjusted to the shift pattern. If you constantly end up swapping between doing nights and not doing them, then you're in for a real treat -.-
Would also recommend on your day off before your first day of work you force yourself to sleep at the time you would if it had been a work day. Just helps with the adjustment a bit.

if you can sleep freely during the day without disturbance or commitments that require your presence then it's probably worth doing nights, i hear the pay is better?
will be tired as hell while you get used to the shifts and will probably always be adjusting your sleeping pattern for days/weekends off
know people who used to do nights and they hated it though because it gets lonely apparently

By the sounds of it will be rotated so not everyone is doing nights all the time and also not covering the weekends. I personally think I'll have problems trying to sleep during the day which isn't going to help at all. Yeah they did say there would be a pay wage increase for sure - Not sure how much yet though.

I worked nights couple of times and its the worst. because when you get home and sleep its day time so when you wake up its almost night again so you don't really have time to do much. It's also really lonely. The only issue I had was that I had to go out the next day so when i got home I slept for about 2 hours then i got up and ready and went out the door. boy was I ever tired
A mate of mine works nights. He tells me he doesn't sleep during the day because it just doesn't feel right and he can't - he will try catch a bit though, but with it being shift work where he will work day time too, it's difficult to adjust. He's already super skinny but he lost even more weight from it because his body just couldn't adjust and didn't know what he needed when etc

When I worked in retail I did work a few late nights. They weren't too bad to be honest.
In my current job my usual hours are 07:30-16:30, but I have on occasion worked later. The latest was 22:30ish, of which I was away from my normal workplace and had to drive home on possibly one of the quitest of nights I've ever experienced. It usually takes me 1.5hrs to get home, but I did it in around 40mins :)

I work nights (well until about 3am) which is good because my sleeping pattern is wrecked. At the moment I'm going to bed at about 7-8am and waking up at about 3pm. I enjoy it though because it means i'm not disturbed by my parents whilst i'm awake as they'll be either at work or sleeping. If you got to bed late at the moment then it shouldn't be too hard for you to adjust to it, although it's a killer if you need to do things in the day after you've been at work the night before.

Working during the day is effort enough I think
The one thing that I felt when doing so is the loss of time. Everything seems so backwards and having a social life is harder than it looks.
I know my body did not like it since you were eating at times when your body should be resting, and yeah.. it didn't go over well for me

i worked at a bar from like 9-3am, if it was 'bedlam' which is an all nighter event i worked till 6
but it's not that bad just bring loads of coffee with you and sleep when you get home
I work nights, 12 hour shifts. I find it really hard to sleep after the shift (like today I only got 3 hours).
Try and rest the day before if you can't sleep during the day.

I did it for a year and a bit, you'll get a lot of sore throats especially if your job involves shouting at customers through a pane of glass because the stupid company refused to install an intercom.
Not many night jobs even pay extra, you also lose your social life as everyone else's free time happens to be while you're at work and vice versa.
It's not worth it.
