A russian bus driver drove over a geyser of boiling water, got stuck and the passengers felt the consequences

The driver jumped through the smashed windscreen to flee but did not open the doors for more than fifteen passengers including five teenagers.

The bus rapidly filled with scorching water in Vavilova Street in Krasnoyarsk.

There were scenes of panic as people pawed at the windows desperate to escape the bus.

Thirteen people were rushed to hospital with heavy skin burns, some in life-threatening condition

That's really awful, Surely it can't be that hard to quickly open the doors before saving himself?

To be fair to the guy, you're not exactly thinking rationally when you're being scalded by tons of boiling water.

I know the bus driver's gonna get a lot of slack but tbfh if you're at risk of death you'd wanna save yourself straight away. He should have helped the others though yes.

Sounds horrific.

If that situation occurred, I don't know what I would of done, so I can't really say whether what he did was right or wrong. Although, I would like to think I would try to save others.

I'd probably have done the same if I was in the situation, not really thinking about it and just trying to save myself. Can't blame him.

Absolutely awful, hope they all pull through and hopefully retain a quality of life.

Hard to imagine something worse to endure.
