So tonight is prom night at my school and I won't be attending it. So the question is. Did you go to your school prom ? did you like it ? If not why ?

Aww you should have gone Nick! You were talking about it for ages. My school had 2 formals every year (one with drink/no teachers and one with no drink but staff) so I had like 6 formals and went to about 5 of them!

This girl who was on prom team leaked out that it was murder mystery themed. But looking at the pictures on FaceBook. No one is dressed for that theme. But its okay tho!. The hockey game it on. Blackhawks vs The Kings. I think the hockey game is better than any school dance ;)

Our Ball was at a really posh Hotel in the city and the theme was The Great Gatsby and the whole night was so good. It went from 7 until midnight and our limo was actually so cool. Defiantly something I'd do again. And we had a photobooth set up with props and stuff and I have so many photos from that wew.

We had a formal in the last year of school and I was SO excited for it but everything just kept on happening that made me less and less excited. So I was kind of alone and miserable when I had so wanted to enjoy it and it was just a huge let down. The night was really good though the theme was James Bond but I wouldn't do it again unless my friends promised to not let me down.

I didn't go to my one in Year 11 or the final year of school: first one was because I was 15 (summer birthday), and they'd booked a hotel in London, and my mum wouldn't let me. I don't regret not going to that though, wasn't really friends with anyone.

I do kinda regret not going to my year 13 one though, it looked like a really good night. I had rehearsals for a show first thing the next morning though, and I decided that was more important. Plus, it was like £60. Nah.

Yes I went to mine, it was where I now work so we was right up at the sea cliff, had food, fireworks and a disco it was so nice. Liked the after party as well !

didn't go to mine. couldn't care for it and don't regret not going at all. didn't like the idea of it, h8 dresses and didn't like the majority of people that were there

I went to mine and it was alright, a bit boring if anything. We had it in a nice hotel by our school which was alright as it was literally down the road from me. We had a four course meal and the food was okay nothing fantastic but I guess they probably didn't care because we were students. We all expected there to be a fight between two groups of girls and there was nothing!! Disappointing. Ended up going home pretty early as it was just not fun enough and the band was crap.

it was fun drinking with the teachers, we were going to go out to town afterwards what we did, but ended up in some casino till 8am...

I didn't go because no one wanted to go with me and none of my friends wanted to go with me as a group. So I just decided to stay home. I'm not really friends with the people at the school. But I guess it would have been nice to gone. I'll wait till people post the pictures on FaceBook to see what I missed :P

surprised at how many people on here didnt go to their prom. i remember being super excited for it but it wasn't really as great as i was expecting. dont think our school could have picked a worse place to have prom which was at some old hotel in the center of town, it was awful. we didnt have a theme, everyone just turned up wearing traditional prom dresses. i did enjoy being all girly and getting my hair properly done and wearing a prom dress and all. didnt do the whole date thing though, just went with my friendship group at the time in a VW camper van .

Yeah I went to mine and it seems like it was ageees ago now! It was alright, I just went because my friends were. We got a limousine to take us then had some time for photos etc outside. We then had a meal inside and a disco yeah was alright lol a nice way to end school!

I ended up asking one of my friends who went and he said everyone who went didn't really care for it. they said food wasn't good the DJ was good but there wasn't much room to dance. I should have went to the after prom. But some people were doing some hardcore drugs there :P

the after prom party was the best part of the day.... although I don't remember much. forgot about the food, the food was pretty bad at ours. it was like party rings and the sort of crap you would at a 10 year olds birthday party.

Yeah some schools do have graduation night where students are invited to have a dinner, games, flashbacks stuffs like that, but they're usually the good ones. Every school here is different, some schools don't even have it cause not every school can afford to make one, plus it's not really a popular culture here like in USA and UK where most schools have dance proms

Ahh our school charges 70$ for people to go prom. Which pays for the place for student to have their dinner and dance. But everyone said it was horrible tho

Sorry. because our after prom was at some camp ground own by the hells angels ( Biker group ) and people do hardcore drugs there so I didn't think schools would allow that :P
