I was thinking about interest rates the other day (I know... so thrilling) and I recalled a programme I watched a few years back that discussed some of the worst interest rates. The one example that stuck in my head was a 0.001% flat rate offered on a normal current account. I can't recall ever seeing such a... useless rate. I've also encountered various supermarket offers where it actually works out cheaper to buy the individual items rather than the deal and don't even get me started on the rip off that is pound/99p stores.

Ultimately, what's the point in such promotions (minus business profit :P)? I want you to either give a world example of a ridiculously pointless offer or invent your own - e.g. "Buy two items for the price of two!". Good luck.

I didn't lose my money. I sold it on ebay.

I was talking to my grandpa about how when you had a home phone back then they'd give you a good deal so you pay 11 months and get the 12th free.
I chuckled and said to him, yeah, now it's more like you pay 11 months, and pay double of what you owe on the 12th

I was at a pet shop, I asked I would like a tarantula. They said it was £50, they said if you buy a cage with it, it would be £85 for a bulk deal they are doing, I asked what is the normal price of the cage, they said it was £35, I asked what is the point of the deal, they replied "well you don't want a tarantula and no cage do you?"
