I was thinking about interest rates the other day (I know... so thrilling) and I recalled a programme I watched a few years back that discussed some of the worst interest rates. The one example that stuck in my head was a 0.001% flat rate offered on a normal current account. I can't recall ever seeing such a... useless rate. I've also encountered various supermarket offers where it actually works out cheaper to buy the individual items rather than the deal and don't even get me started on the rip off that is pound/99p stores.
Ultimately, what's the point in such promotions (minus business profit :P)? I want you to either give a world example of a ridiculously pointless offer or invent your own - e.g. "Buy two items for the price of two!". Good luck.
