I think we need to be promoting the likes of TuneIn a lot more on air.
It's such a major thing that HxL is available on mobile and should mean listeners can listen whenever, wherever (cue Shakira).
I know obviously people are already listening whilst you promote it on air but many may not know about it.
Also - Habbo is now mobile (iPad) so things are moving away from the PC / laptop, so we need to keep moving with the times!
New generic imaging, idents etc would be good too, but obviously that costs.

1) People will tune out if you advertise alot.
2) You do know you can get habbox on the iPad as its compatible?
3) Habbox has staff which are able to do generic imaging.

Whats generic imaging and idents? Is it like Jingles?
Also the thing about TuneIn is that the DJs that know about it and know how to use it are actually pushed to advertise it on air, Possibly mainly the Senior+.

agreed the giveaways are life.
That a lot of DJs aren't involved in the community
those that are get more listeners, just sayin.
more weekly shows

A few years ago the DJs had 20-40 people in their rooms having fun while they were on air. Now they either sit (usually silently) in the HxHD or only manage to get 5 people in their rooms
Why? I can't really answer that but should be something you all discuss and try to improve
Overall though, HxL has a lot of good DJs. The 2 most recent from last night, OldLoveSong and Smudge, were both interesting, chatty and had good mics/good pronunciation

Agree with this, it's actually mentioned in our Staff Forum that we should be advertising it. I know though, if I want to tune in, I just use www.HabboxLive.com because the mobile version, although ugly, does the job.
New generic imaging, idents etc would be good too, but obviously that costs.
Yeah it does cost to get it done professionally. They're not as bad as you'd think though. The company that is normally used it RPC, Radio Production Company - http://www.radioproductioncompany.co.uk/
1) People will tune out if you advertise alot.
Generally I find speaking once every two songs is okay and one advert per speaking is normally fine. We drop it in subtly, like I could be talking about something on the forum then mention that people should get signed up too. Jingles are normally a good way to advertise because they are short, snappy and to the point.
3) Habbox has staff which are able to do generic imaging.
They won't sound as good as a company doing it professionally though

I agree that it attracts listeners. HabboxLive, however, attracts people with no interest in Habbo whatsoever, I know I didn't when I joined. It is definitely something that gets mentioned in reports though.

There is a thread within the staff forum that allows any DJ to request a weekly show and it sees some interest on and off. Just a case of getting them going with enough momentum to keep going.

Some people when they're new struggle to multi task but as they get more into it it becomes second nature to them so they can go on Habbo and chill out and chat to people. Maybe some more competitions or something to attract people to rooms?
Overall though, HxL has a lot of good DJs.
Agree with this, I'm slightly bias but quality has improved within the last few months for sure.

I suppose I sort of agree with this but the current DJ's that are around are good.

GET RID OF JINGLES COMPLETELY they are unnecessary (the DJ always announces that it's HxL anyway, and it's not like anyone tunes in and somehow doesn't know what site they're on) and I'm pretty sure half of them are illegal since Habbox doesn't own the rights to soundbites of celebrities who have agreed to advertise for someone else - unless somehow we got JT and Rihanna and whoever else to endorse us but I don't think that's the case. They also are really cringey and a waste of airtime
Also when speaking I don't think it's necessary to name every song you're about to play unless you're reading out requests. DJs that talk are infinitely more interesting but if it's just announcing the upcoming song choices they've made it doesn't really have a point
Other than that, more ducks

What do you think about the short jingles that are played to advertise the forum and such? Are they just as bad or not?
I've gotten into the habit of saying that you're tuned into HabboxLive but then radio DJs on the likes of Heart and Radio 1 say the station name too :P
I agree with the announcing the next song thing, CHAT TOPICS are far more interesting and it gets listeners involved. Or when DJs read all the requests out just to say they don't have any of them.

Yeah sorry - jingles and stuff!
I think with the change in Management, it's a perfect opportunity to reflect on what we're doing (and not doing) to make HxL better in any way we can.
Personally, I've not heard any mention of TuneIn / HxL on mobile at all when I've been tuned in (and I've been tuned in a lot over the past few weeks). It could just be me, but I don't hear much of DJs advertising party rooms either - that interaction is important so that the listener feels part of the show, stays tuned and is more likely to come back.
Think like a listener. What would make you tune in and stay tuned in? What would make you invite your friends to tune in, too?
Ultimately, HabboxLive is great. But we'd be wrong to think that everything is prefect because there are always ways to be better.

Not AS bad because obv being shorter they don't waste so much time but I still think they're totally unnecessary as DJs ought to be able to remember to mention the forum or mobile app once in a while :P if nothing else it gives them something to talk about for a few seconds when they have nothing else to say in breaks between songs. If jingles are to exist at all I think it ought to just be a very quick (like 10 seconds absolute max) pre-recorded shoutout to advertise specific shows, the rest can and should be done by the DJs

Also need to be promoting the "Habbox Live Radio Stream Player Extension" for Google Chrome as well.

I tend to ramp jingles over song intros so the forum advert fits nicely over quite a few song intros so just as it's finishing the lyrics kick in.
I see what you mean about DJs saying it, hmmm, something to think about but I guess they've been there for so long and the fact that "real" radios use them then we always have haha

Heard that's rubbish? ;)
Should be a banner or something that comes up on the HxL site to advertise it to Chrome users perhaps idk

haha, I have, in all seriousness I do use it and it is useful. The amount of times I have HxL.com open and accidentally close it then wonder why the music stops lol

I'll probably be updating it soon (Or rather replacing since I lost my private key), and doing a Firefox version too. There's another project I'm working on at the moment which will give me some experience with the firefox extensions.

With this you should also be promoting the chrome extension a hell of a lot more. Easier than going to the site and there is zilch promotion on it.
