Interview at Currys/PC World.

So I've been offered an interview for part time in Currys/PC World. Never really been to many interviews before,

Any advice? Especially If you've had one in Currys/PC World.

Its a pretty bog standard retail job? No real effort needs to be put in during your interview just dress smart, don't pick your nose and answer the questions accordingly with some professionalism. Pretty standard really..

It's funny though, the position I've been offered was my friends position that he left as he now works in a Bose store.

And my flatmate works in the store, and one of the reasons I got the interview was because he put in a good word. So he's going to give me some good tips on sunday and monday when I see him.

There was over a 100 applicants, and he narrowed it down to 7 people and theres 2 positions to going ( So I really hope I get it ) and I'll get a call next week for the second stage

The questions were just standard interview questions like

- Give me an example of how you have faced difficult customers

- Have does change affect you

- Give us an example when working in a team that theres been a difficult member and how you resolved it.

I gave answers to everything he asked and drew from different experiences for different questions like I mentioned when working for a night club how I would deal with drunk customers ect when selling tickets and such

and mentioned how working on group assignments in uni were i've had to take control due to a lazy group member ect ect

Long story short without going into deets, me and another guy who worked on footwear sat in and interviewed people to work on footwear over Xmas because in previous years they employed douches. With them answers from a recruitment point of view, if you're not hired the person interviewing you must have just hated your vibe haha. Good job man.

Good luck with it all. I've had a couple of mate's who have worked at PC world and Currys they defiantly enjoyed it but they are quite tough on you! You really need a lot of confidence and want to sell products! You will probably get a trail and have to meet a target of a certain amount of sales and money you made sorta thing. That's what my friend's have told me but it could be different. But good luck with it!!

As long as they don't say "sell yourself to me" you'll be fine. Worst interview ever. I was only short of saying a tenner and walking out.

Hopefully you'll get the job already but for the love of god, if you do, don't be one of those employees that chase people around, i feel like pac man getting chased by giant purple ghosts when going into that shop (Oh and you can get the power ups and make them run away by saying you have no money).

Likely you'll get the job, you'd be very surprised at the rabble that apply for certain jobs. You seem like a clever lad so I'm sure you'll get it .. and if not.. their loss :P

Had a phone call today saying I was successful with the first part of the interview and they'll ring me in the next few days to arrange a date for the second part.

lmao i had to try so hard to be like loud in my interview but you could literally **** on the floor at clarks and get the job

They've said one part of the interview I will have 5 minutes to impress them with a hobby or anything, its up to me.

Had the second interview today,

- manager asked few questions such as availability ect, and such

- I did my impressions, he made me do them in front of everyone.

- Had to pretend to sell him something on shop floor, sold him a Mac.
